Media Vs Knights

Sorry to start another thread but frustration is building.

In the telegraph today they have run 3 or 4 different articles pro Tinkler and how our club management sucks. Information you would think being leaked by one side in order to support them.

It's concerning as it seems a large portion of people actually do believe what they hear in the media (particularly the telegraph) when it comes to the NRL.

Anyway my point is the people reading this garbage have voting rights, and i don't believe it's a fair fight for the club. Also I imagine the hearld bashing on a daily basis up there is much worse.

The media has been offside with Tinkler for the majority of the term of his wealth. Now they believe he is the real deal, and he is not a guy you want to be offside with in an industry like any form of media (not only in business but sport as well).

This is all part of it. He is well connected (Jodi McKay, John Singleton, et al) and will dominate any battle played out in the media.

Unfortunately as long as he wants us to be whipping boys we will be.

funny how the tide of public opinion is against the board isnt it

well deservedly is probably a more appropriate word

I'm a great supporter of our current admin, and i don't think they have done anything but their job in this whole thing, but it's time to find a way for Tinkler to get money into the club.

The worst possible outcome is a protracted civil war though.

Right now, one side or the other needs to fall on their sword for the good of the club.

The good news is that there is a meeting on next Monday for members to find out firsthand all about the two proposals. Those same people will then be the ones that vote on the dire toon the club takes.

98% of the people reading the newspaper articles are non-members, so while they may own an opinion, in the end it counts for nothing. All we can hope is that the members that do end up voting at least bother to go to the meeting on Monday to get an unbiased representation of the facts.

That's two words champ :)

It isn't really that well deserved. If the Knights board deserved to be caned by the press, Tinkler's lack of patience and pressure tactics in taking over a non-profit organisation should also be taken to task.

I don't think that is the word at all. They are trying to get the best deal, because really we only have one chance to sell the club. Every tom, dick and harry putting their 2 cents in when they clearly have no idea about the matter does nothing for the cause.

For example how much information on the deal do you think Andrew Johns has? Yet he is on the front page of the paper bagging the club. I am not agaisnt Tinkler, but they way he has handled it.

I would say he knows more about it then you and I. He probably knows Burraston and co and Tinkler very well having been a specialist coach at the club.

A coach that this administration have just distanced themselves from only to see his brother get the job instead. He has also been out of the country while everything has happened.

I am really sure Joey makes a daily call to the club to find out the latest from the beach in Fiji.

He also would have no interest in making the guys who just sacked him look bad either would he.

You can also add he is somewhat a 'buddy' of Tinkler.

In any case, Joey Johns support of Tinkler holds more value than your support of either party...I don't see any of you on the front page of the papers.

Wouldn't have anything to do with suiting their agenda would it? Surely not.

What value? His a former player with no more current association the club. His idea and knowledge is as good as yours or mine (judging on the column). Joey making comments is simply doing his mates in the media a favor.

What matter's is Tinkler's gaining support from people with community respect. From what I gather he is not the only one.
