Mitch Flintoff against the swinging ball in England when he can't even average 30 over Here in FC with the ball doing Peter Siddle like nothing,Jimmy Anderson must be crying tears of laughter into his Corn Flakes at the prospect of bowling to Mitch Flintoff.

Mitch Flintoff a worse batter than his brother and a worse bowler than Watto.

Their's at least 10 very average but better options than Watson at 3 Any bowler keeps it on the stumps for an over or two and he's out

Well done to Joe Burns.

So will this mean he will given the gig at No.3 pushing Watson down the order?

Aus squad: Smith (c), Haddin (vc), Burns, Harris, Hazlewood, Johnson, Lyon, S Marsh, Rogers, Siddle, Starc, Warner, Watson

Very happy with Joe Burns getting selected, he's a quality batsmen. I imagine Siddle and Starc miss out from that lot. Be interesting who they play where though. Is it a straight swap of Burns in at 6 for Marsh or does Burns go up to three, Watson down to 6, given he may be required with the ball.

Burns at three, good selection.

Clearly looking to the future here.

Happy with this as long as he bats at 3 and not 6 with Watson at 3.

He is a much better No 3 than Watson and our team has a much better shape

How is suggesting Burns would be a better #3 than Watson a big call?

Watson is probably the worst (or very close to) #3 in test cricket at the moment

Burns should bat at 3.

I still don't think he will average more than 35 which is Watson's average.

I hope I'm wrong though. I really want to see one of our up and coming shield batsmen do well and be in our test team consistently.

Especially with our squad ageing.

I hope Burns can perform well.

Because unfortunately there is no other no.3 who could take Watson's spot.

Besides Burns noone is putting their hand up who bats at 3.

Because there is a massive chasm that exists between success opening in the shield, to success as a 3 in test cricket. I think the anti Watson sentiment is minimising the difficulty in the task.

Good to see Rogers digging in at the GABBA.

He's a fighter of a player.

Hoping he makes some more runs in upcoming 2 tests.

His 2nd innings knock was crucial in helping us get over the line.
