Got This from rleague.com

Vince Mellars was released from the NZ Warriors and has joined the Cronulla Sharks for the remainder of the 2004 season and 2005. Vince's manager Chris Orr said that Vince is looking forward to playing along side Nigel Vagana and developing his game to a higher level. He would like to aim for Test selection at the end of the year.

AND

Greg Bird will hold discussions with a number of clubs and may be tempted to pursue a career in the Australian Capital which will allow him to follow his uncle Dean lance by pulling on the Lime Green jersey.

Mellars is an excellent addition to the club. Will McGoldrick go to the wing now?

And the sooner Bird leaves the better.

The Sharks Den submitted a story about our recruitment process a few hours ago... but it has yet to slide its way through the beauracratic red tape of the news submission process.

What a day its been. Mellars in and Bird gone, everything is coming together perfectly for next year. Aitken at 5/8, Mellars in the centres and McGoldrick to the Wing :) =P~

Obviously he'd start in PL I'd imagine but I would expect after a short stint their he will prove himself worthy of his spot. Vagana and Mellars or Vagana and McGolrick? You prefer the second?

Ive said it before that McGoldrick has an uncertain future at the Sharks. I dont know his contractual arrangements but as i understand it he has been told to look elsewhere for next year. Whether this results in him leaving the club remains to be seen.

Havent seen much of Mellars but he obviously has a bit of size to do some damage. Lets hope it is a good signing. It sounds good that he wants to link with Vagana and get something going with him too with the aim of representing NZ.
