Sniffmyfinger can eat a dick as far as I'm concerned too. Never really respected him since the "What has the game given me" comment. More recently it only takes little things to piss me off. In my frequent visits to Canberra I've seen numerous ads on local t.v where Mal encourages people to sue anything and anyone if they've been "wronged"......makes me cringe every time. The recent Fox ads for Queenslanders only where Mal is dressed up as a priest in maroon colors make me chew on my own vomit too.

As a youngster, I was a big Meninga fan. Naive enough to be convinced that Australia had moved on from the culture of casual racism because our national footy codes had so many indigenous stars and he was Kangaroos captain. Filled my little progressive heart with pride.

But his utter hypocrisy, over Fifita and other 'culture' related issues, just made me want to yak. Fifita never made a public statement or railed against the justice system. Only wrote an acronym on his strapping, a cryptic message for himself in support of a mate. It's called rehabilitation, Mal. Good on you Fifi.

I can even understand the reasoning behind not selecting Radradra because he was personally charged with a major crime and was the subject of an official criminal investigation. Albeit not yet ruled on, the NRL could make a sound case for not bringing the game into disrepute until the matter was cleared up.

Plenty of players write religious messages on their strapping. Are they sanctioned for the crimes of every religious extremist/kiddy-fiddler?

I can handle the other f**kers. Hodges/Tallis/etc piss me off, but no biggie, that's just your garden variety, sport related smug merkinism. Every good story needs a bad guy.

But f**k you Meninga. f**k you Todd Greenberg. f**k you NRL. Hypocritical f**ks.

*Rant over*
Nice rant!
I just have one question though,
Are you implying that Mal is an indigenous Australian?
He is of Vanuatuan descent, just to be clear.

Needs more Moylan.

That smart arse with the crooked smile who can't stop spitting everywhere has had everything handed to him and had the wind blown up him by channel 9's Gould, rep jerseys, media contracts, praise and the bloke is a complete myth.

He's Kidley 2.0. Not the best fullback in the state, not the best half or 5/8th in the state and not the best utility in the state.

That said, the hate factor isn't as high as the usual crew in Meninga and Cam Smith.

The “Rugby League has given me nothing” and his 5 second stint in ACT local politics were pretty crass moments.

As for his background, he's mentioned that he's descended from the Kanakas, are they from Vanuatu BBB ?
I remember from school history classes they were brought to Qld to work on the cane fields.

They were known as the Sugar Slaves. They were not taken from their homes on their own accord. They was grabbed. A very dark part of our history. A lot of their descendents live up my way. The Yow Yehs for example. It is interesting to hear their stories.

I believe (if me old memory serves me correct) that a lot of them were offered a big brand new life with all the trinkets but got a sharp knife and a life in the sugar fields.

There was a doco made on the Sugar Slaves.

People that say they are screaming squirters on their profile, only to find out that upon reaching the crescendo, it's but a mere squeak & a minuscule dribble.

I f**ken hate that & it's happening a lot more.........than well.......errrr......more than usual I guess.

That "Rugby league has given me nothing" and his short politic career stint should get more airtime and awareness.

Would love to see a journalist go after him like they have frequently gone after us.

But you can't attack the golden children I suppose.

And yet i think he should be an Immortal, lucky we are all different.

Yeah I agree Bluey. Doesn't matter what happens off the Rugby League Field, his record and records speak for themselves.

And check out the other Immortals - I think there might be a few in there that were a bit suspect with off field antics.

Recently - does the name Andrew Johns ring a bit of a bell.

But the Immortals, just like the NRL, just like being elligible/picked for a National RL Side, and just like the State of Origin, IT JUST AIN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE.
