Honestly, It's amazing how they can just keep going.
We've done so much stuff over the past 6 weeks - zoo trips, bushwalks, bike rides, so many parks and playgrounds, swimming almost every day - but my kids are still too young to go out and do this shit by themselves so I have to do it all as well.

It's fun and I love doing it all with them, but I'm just flat out exhausted.
Enjoy while u can, there grown ups for a long time

We go to Narooma. There's plenty of great spots to swim down that way.

We holidayed or visited there frequently when the kids were growing up. Such fond memories.
Just for old times sake, when I was returning from Jindabyne a few weeks ago on my own, I decided to come home the long way for a change. Across through Nimmitabel, down the spectacular Snowy Mountains Highway through Brown Mountain and then through the gorgeous Bega Valley. Then up the coast.
I specifically stopped in Narooma and had a long walk around. Particularly the section on the lake side where those few restaurants are along the water's edge where you can feed the fish off the end of the wharf.
Had so many good lunches there back in the day.
I also stopped in Tilba Tilba and bought some great cheeses and meats.
I know it can be tiring mate but cherish every moment you spend with the youngen's. The years pass ever so quickly and before you know it, you will be wishing these times back again.

That would have been a lovely drive. We've had to go the Bega/Brown Mountain route back when we got caught in the bushfires back in Jan 2020. Were stuck in Narooma (actually we evacuated to a relative's place in Dalmeny because we had no running water at the farm because no electricity) for 4 days as the highway was closed both ways. When they finally opened the highway up they only opened it going south, so off we went. Reached Cooma and then headed to Canberra to stay the night. Back to Sydney the next day. Was a weird and scary time.

Love Tilba. Go there all the time for the cheese shop, and the kids the lolly shop. Also the Tilba Valley Winery and Ale house is a great place to have a feed and drink on a sunny arvo.

And yeah, I cherish almost every moment I have with my kids. Growing up so fast - as evidenced by the $130 I had to spend on a pair of school shoes yesterday.

Yes, that was tough summer. I had a place booked in Malua Bay which was devastated by the fires. I was going there with my 17 and 18 yo daughters and their friends and boyfriends. 10 of us all up. Me and all the kids.
My booking was cancelled by Booking.com at the last minute. We were due there two days after the fires tore through.
Somehow, I found an extraordinary place in Culburra a day later which was so lucky as Nowra and surrounds had also been razed by fires, so we all still got to enjoy a holiday. Although it was a truly bitter/sweet holiday, knowing full well how devastating the fires had been for so many others. :(

And yes, I've done the school shoes thing many a time. The kids absolutely trash them!!

Hasn't Justin Hemmes bought up big down there and the locals aren't happy?

He owns the farm next to ours.
Met him only once and he was a twat.

Some locals like what he's doing. Others hate it. He really hasn't changed much about the place, just has bought up a few local businesses. I don't really like going to his establishments, but we went to The Quarterdeck down there last time and the food was great.

Was talking to one local bloke who has lived down there his whole life. I asked what he thought about the town now Justin has come down. He said "Well there's a lot more coke in town, that's for sure".
