Brailey is epitome of rocks and diamonds game to game. Takes his foot off the pedal, people criticise him then comes out and has a great game. The only time I rued him being out was that semi final a few years back v Canberra - he was flying, got injured just on half time and we feel into a heap and lost.
The lack of urgency or care factor is troubling.

Brailey is good (not great) when the team is rolling. If it's an evenly matched battle, particularly between the packs, he is a non-factor. He has a decent kicking game, but he rarely uses it.

The funny thing is when he does run the ball, he has no support because I think it genuinely surprises the team.

I can't get with Fitzy's comments in the presser about the McInnes no try and the media being overly critical instead of focusing on the Roosters defence. Great teams roll with the punches and find a way to win despite bad calls and bad luck, not just get close and say they could have won if things had been different.

For the most part, I've actually been happy with Fitz in post-game interviews. He rarely has been too high or too low on performance, doesn't blame officiating, etc.

So the fact that he kind of did this time (nowhere near a Robinson level) tells me he was feeling the criticisms a fair bit more. He should be feeling it.

From the outside looking in iv noticed quite a few of the boys look like they have been struggling with their mental health in one way or another.
Whether that’s from footy or in their personal lives.
They really look like they need a good rest away from everything after the past few years with a new coach, expectations, World Cup on the back of covid footy, the added new world of constant player pod casts and social media.

Boys just need to clear there heads for 2024

I can't understand why brailey stops f**king running. Can someone pls tell me if he's told not to?

When he runs we are f**king dangerous and the team rolls over the advantage line which helps our go forward and post contact metres as the defensive line is starting to pedal backwards.

His service is outstanding, the width on some of those passes in our attacking 20 to first receiver is fantastic.

I just don't understand why he's not f**king running all the time.

When he doesn't, we just get picked off on our one out bullshit.

For perspective - the Sharks had the 3rd fewest dummy half runs in the competition. This despite being second in run metres, 3rd in post contact metres, and second in linebreaks.

It's funny to think the Sharks attack is actually really good, until they come up against a good scramble defence because they only force the edges to scramble.

Those stats would largely come from our backs.
I'm talking about mobilising the guys who should actually be taking the brunt of the load and brailey is certainly key to that.

Toby as an example, plays better when braileys skipping out of half. We revert to that one out from our own end and our forwards get belted and run out of steam.

I don’t get why players don’t throw the dummy from dummy half more often in that situation. Everyone rushes up past the ball at the player expected to get it for the field goal. There’s always so much space. Especially if it isn’t the last, take the chance and go for the try.
I’ve mentioned this before a few times - I’d love to see the stats for how many times when we’re playing the ball right on their line, that Brailey attempts to burrow over - I don’t recall him trying it even once this year. I’ve watched for it every week since I noticed, and I can’t remember him doing it one single time. Might not seem much, but the fact he never goes for it, means the markers and A defenders can spread wider and also rush our first receiver - he simply has to be a threat with ball in hand first and foremost - exactly the same with his running game, when he’s a threat, it takes flies off our forwards and we can get a roll against a more hesitant defence.
He’s a terrific defender, a great engine, service from dummy half is usually crisp, but his lack of nouse around the ruck is a killer for us. The stupid thing is, he’s good at the running game when he does it, but clearly he can’t read the game well enough to know when he needs to step up, or the negative impact him just being a distributor has.

Don’t think Braily went for a dive over attempt all year. I took him a few time early in the season as anytime try scorer against teams I thought middle’s struggled defending on the line but gave up on him after to many failed bets.

You'd think they would have trained for a field goal play. Didn't look like it at all as others have said the forwards all out of position
Nah to busy talking to the media how they left their fans down last year. I’m just glad it’s all over we werent going to compete anyways with the other teams in the 8th we simply not an Apex Predator team. just Look at the way Penrith play the they hunt like wolves you don’t make 3 grand final in a row being nice.

Before the game he was asked about what it meant to be playing at home and he immediately went into a rant about it being the NRL's decision, it's the rule etc...he was defensive. She just wanted a couple of cliches mate, she wasn't having a dig! I think he would be crushed by that result and performance. As a team we went backwards this year and unless we have some change in systems, we'll miss the eight next year because most
of these plodders would struggle to make the 17 at most other clubs in the eight.

I remember the first half a set where the Roosters defended our goal line we hardly made any metres, kind of explains why we need forwards with toughness Rudoloph Valentino just doesn’t cut it.

I think we also need to look at those two teams from the weekend side by side and see how many sharks make a combined 17.

We would be lucky to have 4 players. The entire spine are roosters. The centres are roosters. Katoa over the young rooster winger.
Maybe Nikora over wong.

Who else makes it?
despite this they were in there till the death, just couldn’t put it away.
They don’t have the killer instinct to close games out

Of course they would have trained for it but like the whole season they’re clearly not applying what they should be doing to actual games.

Poor errors, inconsistent in defence all year. Can go on and on.

Team needs to do what ever the Warriors did and come in next year with the same hard edge.

But he’s a good bloke and pretty funny. Seriously, not his fault but he just has a habit of disappointing me

Just listening to Andrew on 2SM, Basically Hughes responded to him that we don't have the foward pack to win these type of games.
