In 2002 SKONTO RIGA broke the World Record for most SUCCESSIVE Top Level League Championships in any code of football. The previous record belonged to St. George Rugby League Club (Sydney) in the Australian Rugby League competition (listed in the Guinness Book of Records). St. George won 11 successive championships from 1956 to 1966 to claim a record which appeared unbreakable until Skonto equalled it in 2001. In 2002, Skonto won their 12th successive championship to be sole holders of this incredible WORLD RECORD

Good luck to them. Latvian football truly is the zenith of the "World Game" so their achievement is all the more impressive.

As for the Cronulla Sharks, they too have a record that will stand the test of time. The most unsuccessful premiership winning side in Australian Rugby League history. Bravo, chaps!!

I think it's great that a thread like this is allowed to stay on the dragons forum…I mean it. I believe freedom of speech is paramount to public forums and that the Internet is a universe ruled by no one. It’s just unfortunate that Cronulla mods are so insecure that they delete any view they perceive as a threat redneck hegemony.

At least we held a record...Oh no wait, so do the Sharks 0 Premierships after some 36 odd years. Dont worry...there arent any other teams in the world that crap/stupid to not be able to rank up at least 1 Premiership, and the best thing about that record for you guys is that you keep building on it every year.

Skonta Riga won a dozen minor premierships in a row in a competition they joined 12 years ago.

Saints won 11 GRAND FINALS in a row in the toughest competition in the world.
