He hasn't done anything until he starts feeling comfortable being uncomfortable.

From my research, I'm expecting very little from Webb in the way of what all SGI fans want re the coach ie crash or crash through change- he is in the "smooth operator" genre of CEO - a marketing man and the antithesis of someone like Vlandy's who sees a problem and doesn't let up until he's solved it.

Webb's quals and early background ie prior to his AFL and Wests Tigers appointments, was in the Health industry and he has the usual MBA quals etc - so we can expect steady as she goes corporate gobbledygook references to "brand', "challenges ahead" etc in official utterances.

Haven't heard anything about why he left the Tigers - but it was to a marketing role in a non-sport related company.

Johnston's public reasons for leaving after just 15 months- spending more time with the family on the Dunedoo family farm don't wash with me- his car crash interview on 2SM's Talkin Sport a year or so ago reeked of someone with cognitive dissonance ie his public utterances didn't match his private thoughts- particularly about the coach.

My gut feeling is that Mary must have rusted on support in all the right places on the Board to have survived Gus' ridiculous review and that is the real reason Johnston left.

My thoughts of Brian Johnston's reason for leaving the Dragons this time doesn't wash with me either. I think that when he was the CEO of the Dragons from 1996 to 2000 (when he stepped down for medical reasons and the position at the then Joint Venture was taken over by Peter Doust), he appeared to be well thought of during that period. I don't think that his return as the CEO taking over from Peter Doust has been successful and somehow I think that some decisions the people sitting in the boardroom have made are the reasons for this.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Ryan Webb handles the position and how much the board will "assist" him to make the club successful by removing any roadblocks and we know what and who that is.
