Re the question on our crowds in the JBC.

Our best crowd has been 2700 and our worse was 900 (on a terrible stormy Sat night). Considering I was at a game at Belrose a few weeks ago when I would doubt there were more than 50 people there, yes I would suggest we are close if not the best supported team (in our first year after a decade of neglect!)

Last two Perth NRL crowds have been 12,000 and 14,000 for exhibition games so I am confident we could get around the 15,000 to start with for a succesful REDS NRL team.

I have been surprised how many Force fans have been along to the Reds games so I think there is a real chance of snaring some of them to add to the increasing number of Q'landers, Kiwis and Northern Poms that are calling Perth home these days.

That was like reading the diary of a dying person,,,, Perth need to come back in simple as that, it must be planned well funded well promoted well everything.

Skills that the current management do not demonstrate, maybe Searle could be employed by NRL to oversee expansion clubs for the next 5 years.

You had me until this point, are you serious. Perth is nothing more than an ingrown hair on the ass of RL. Perth was not ready, and still is not ready to support a RL team long term. You need more than a few thousand people saying yeah we want a side.

Perth was not ready you say? Hang on, but hasn't the game been here for over 60 friggin years you turd!?

I think you are the ingrown hair pal.

The most saddening thing about that URL link was this bit below:

Will there be a single rugby league competition in Australia next year?
Will the Perth Reds be playing next season? 11 - Yes to single comp, Yes to Reds survival
8 - No to single comp, Yes to Reds survival
3 - Yes to single comp, No to Reds survival
1 - No to single comp, No to Reds survival

The fact that the majority thought the Reds would survive was sad, when they were to find out that their team would be gone.:(

Yeah and I'm sure mongs like Johnsy voted Yes to single comp, No to Reds survival deliberately!

I wish they would.

It would be great if they would add adelaide n perth.
I dont know what the hold up is.. but i assume the nrl are hoping some teams run out of money and then relocate em..

WA is in the middle of a boom, the mines are making a killing.
The state of WA could afford a NRL team but I think it would take a relocation to get it going. Any Sydney clubs with money problems should look into it.
Would rather my team relocate than die out.

I'd rather see the Reds evolve and build into a succesful NRL team than transfer some failing Sydney club with all the failing admin that would come with it. If a club can't thrive in RL heartlands what hope those same administrators could be succesful in a tough new territory?

Not to mention probably 50%+ of Perth Rl fans already have an allegiance to an existing NRL team. Whilst they will happily support a neutral Reds, getting them to support a rival team transplanted would be tough work.

Thanks but you can keep your sub standard Sydney clubs!

I would personally say it'd be much more than 50%, but yeah. I support Newcastle very passionately. I support WA Rugby League very passionately. If a club like Cronulla, Souths, ect, were to be relocated to WA, I would attend most of their games, and may in time accept them as my 2nd team, but there's no way I could ever pull on a Sharks jersey or buy supporters gear ...

A WA Reds team, on the other hand, I could as they're a WA Rugby League product and I've been with them since day one. I would support them more than a relocated team and would cheer for them over every other NRL team than Newcastle.

That being said, I would be happy with any NRL arrangement in Perth.

They ran the add twice during SOO. Great to see and filled with me pride and hope!

Also interesting article in the West the other day with 50,000 people a year moving into Perth! Within 40 years they are saying our population will have doubled to 3 million with most coming from the Eastern states, NZ and England.

Time to make a plan NRL!
