This guy is incredible. Some of the goals he scores are ridiculous, and now top goal scorer for one of the greatest clubs on the planet, Ballon dor 3 times in a row (with I think a third and a second place as well), about to be 4, top goal scorer in the champions league about to be 4 seasons in a row (outright), 3 champions league titles, numerous la ligas and cup competitions. All at 24. Amazing.

Without having seen a lot of the other potential 'best player in history' candidates it would have to have been some player to top him. Surely he's the best of all time, especially considering he has at least 8-10 more years at the highest level.

In any case, I would love for the best player in history to have played in my generation, its something to tell the kids/grandkids, that I saw Messi play (not live, but still). I imagine it would be a special experience, like how my Dad used to tell me stories about George Best, the best he'd ever seen (in his opinion).

Don't mean to gloat I've been lucky enough to see him live twice and unsurprisingly he scored in both. Agree completely with Tommax's point about telling kids/grandkids that I've seen arguably the greatest ever.
