f**k. I've never liked collaborations between two artists who are successful in their own rights. This was destined to flop. Maybe they decided to release some shit to make their next album sound better.

I heard that the Metallica album was being produced at the same time as the Lou Reed one.

I'd expect it to be released next year.

Wow, that was something.

It sounds like they've done it because it's something they wanted to do, not because it will be any good. In that case don't release it, it's crap and keep it to yourself.

They gotta be joking right?

To be honest I dont hate it. There issue is of course that it will not appeal to the core of the Metallica fanbase, but it's a good ballsy riff and chorus, almost a post-punk feeling to it.

Alright, the vocals throughout the verse are a bit crap but it's far from the worst thing Metallica have done (St Anger has got that one covered).

Don't think that is entirely correct. He wrote the lyrics before they got into the studio.

I am listening to it at the moment, asides from the view it's not so bad.. would be better if Reed wasn't in it though:)

It's pathetic with or without reed. It's a pile of pretentious trash.

Meh.. Each to their own.. It has some good moments, and it's certainly different. It won't be on high rotation but i will give it a number of listens no doubt.

It's good that they've released something worse than St. Anger, because that did have a couple of good songs it.

I never got the Load hate. It's a good album with some bloody good blues and southern rock inspired guitar work. If it was released by someone other than Metallica, people would have raved about it. ReLoad, being the offcuts from Load, was pretty poor though (bar 1 or 2 tracks).

Load and Reload = 1 good album. So much filler.
something like:

Aint my bitch
Until it Sleeps
King Nothing
Hero of the Day
Fuel
The Memory Remains
Devils Dance
Unforgiven 2
The Outlaw Torn

would make a pretty excellent album. Throw in I Disappear as a bonus track. The rest is pretty meh

Heard a track played on the radio today, the guitar riffs and James singing sounded good.

You left out Bleeding Me, probably the best song on either album.

It wasn't that Load was bad, it was the fact that Metallica had the ability to do a lot better. As you say though, there were some highlights.

Also need to add The house that jack built, and you pretty much have all the songs i really like off the 2 albums.
