Hallmark of a champion is someone that wants to be involved and want his hands on the ball. That is Morgan to a 'T'. Whether he leads them to a GF win next week is a bit secondary to him showing he is a genuine star of the game.

There was a bit in the game where Morgan had to kick the field goal and the Roosters attempted to pressure him and he was completely and utterly unbothered.
I'm not sure you can coach that, certain types of personalities actually love pressure cooker/clutch situations.

The complete opposite of the bloke wearing 7 for the chooks. Morgan is truly world class.

Truly an epic year for Morgan.

As a NSW fan I hate to bring it up, but origin II clutch play hasn't received the plaudits it deserved.

Thurston generally takes every kick so next year will be interesting, Morgans kicking game has been pin point, shows Thurston was holding back his development.

Michael Morgan is putting together the best collective finals performance from a halfback I've seen since Joey Johns in 2001.

He's that good.

Who the f**k knew? Not even Michael Morgan I don't think.

Respect to Mr Morgan, the Lord of Clutch.
And the best in any position since Hayne 2009?

If Cows manage to beat Storm this weekend, he WILL go down as the best individual finals performer, even if he can't steer the cows to victory he'd still be right up there imo. But a Cowboys gf win would seal it

Future Roos and QLD 7 for years to come

Thurston and Morgan in the nrl era very rare to have such a 6/7 combo. Almost Stuart/Daley like since 2015.

Morgan was playing like absolute shit for the first 6 or 8 weeks of the season too. Now he's the form player in the NRL, a certainty for Australia in the 6 at the World Cup and probably the most important player on the field on Sunday.

Talk about going from the shithouse to the penthouse.

Not the first player to do so under greeny. O'neils first few games in cowboys colours wold have made Michael bani cringe and had people calling for his head. Then he made his origin debut and was a vital cog in the premiership engine.

Morgan just plays 2nd fiddle to Thurston, no one knew he had such a good kicking game because he never kicks when Thurstons there.

Irrespective of the outcome of the GF, Cows would have to be premiership favourites next year with JT and Scott back.

Plus with Morgan firing and JT origin free, they'll take some stopping!

I still think LoLo has a claim to being the form player. He single handedly dominates the forward battle which allows the likes of Morgan to do what his doing.

Having said that it's splitting hairs as both are playing fantastic.

Fair point. I loved JWH and Napa calling him out and his response in the lead-up, so fresh and different to the bland PC talk so common today. A real throwback to a better time.

Pretty sure Morgan misses Brisbane and wants to move back here to be closer to his family

On top of all that, and going with the premise that Melbourne do win on Sunday, Cowboys will have the fuel and motivation in 2018 to avenge a GF loss, while Melbourne will have gotten their redemption from losing last year to the Sharks. Will they have the fire to go again? Cronk gone, Slater potentially too, can they get there again without them?.

Who in the top 8 improves more than the Cowboys do for 2018? Cows aren't losing anyone, gaining JT, Scott and McClean.
