It just sounds stupid Wagon wears the 6 jumper but doesnt play 5/8, where does he play.???? We need a 5/8.

You haven't read the majority of the posts that have appeared on the forum for the past three months have you.

Wagon plays lock. The role of five eight is played by John Morris. We have been playing with two locks - Wagon/O'Dwyer/Muspratt/Widders depending on who is on the field.

I agree that we need another play maker on the field and as to who that will be is yet to be decided.

My choice would be Brett Kenny. ;-)

That's exactly been my point for the last few weeks, two locks dont work. We need another play maker, an organising halfback would be good. Dykes isnt that sort of halfback, mainly a play making 5/8 or half.

Morris has mainly been playing a dummy half role lately, only plays in at 5/8 whenever Webster or someone from the bench comes on.

I have been reading the posts in the last 3 months and I said this tactic will never work and his hasnt worked. Put players back in their normal position before it gets worse.

But he'd probably have to play lock now anyway......

My bet would be that Smithy would have Kenny in the starting side at Prop.
He'd be playing Leabeater at 5/8th. ;-) Bugden at lock, and Neil Hunt at Hooker. Ray Price would be 18th man, just in case someone pulls a hammy. :D

Can I ask what is everyones Opinion on Witts defensive efforts so far this year ?

Of course you can ask that question.
You don't have to ask to ask.
Just ask. :D

Much better than Thorman, on par with Dykes, definitely not of a standard that Wagon and Hindmarsh would do. However if he were to defend at 5/8 with Wagon next to hin in the centres I beleive it would be better than Burt and Wagon in the same positions.

This is not true. Thorman is a much better defender, he misses far less tackles and knows what legs are. In contrast to Wit and he shoulder grapping efforts.

Close to the line I'd rather see Witt defend. Thorman grasses players very well however his size counts against him close to the line - he can also be guilty of jumper grabbing as well. Witt was tested on countless occassions last year against big players and rarely came off second best....

Last time I checked Thorman & Witt were about the same weight, 86-87 odd kilo's. Everyone seems to be saying Thorman is alot smaller than Witt so has Witt bulked up or has Thorman shrunk? #-o

No one wants to listen to me, I have said it ample times and yet I'll say it again. Witt will not play for Parramatta First Grade until atleast Round 11. I have my ways of knowing. You heard it here first.

i believe you. you sound convinced, and i have no idea why, but that's good enough for me. After all, the main reason why i read these chat sites is to pick up inside info from people who have little contacts or connections and can actually get close to the club somehow. Noone else is making any sense anyway...

Well all i can say is BRING ON ROUND 11!!!!!!!!!

There are alot of Witt haters here, why is that?????

People really seem to like Thorman, they have seen him in ESL but it is nowhere as good as the NRL, people have also seen him in P\L and so have i and i'll tell you he aint better than Witt..........he is good but to go against Witt (a player who has come through the ranks at Parra) is just beyond me.....

What has he done wrong? can you people tell me??? Last year he may not have set the world on fire BUT he really helped us get some momentum and stepped up to the plate at the right times and by the end of the season we could all see potential in him and we all knew he had GREAT talent...........what happened???

Look Kornstar. To say that Thorman isn't as good as Witt is utter shit. Look I love Witt, I rate him up there with the best of Half Backs in the game but Thorman is no short duck. This young pommie is going to be huge when he gets his chance. He has allready represented England and will represent the Eels in fine fashion aswell. Witt will get his chance soon aswell.

Soon the side will be having to many playmakers in first grade to make there minds up

They will have Witt, Dykes, and Thorman. 2 will start at halves and one on the bench. Remember, Witt, Round 11 or later.
