The IRL could organise some games for a change.

ARLC rightly will prioritise SOO but why can't there still be games?

The Thurs after Origin is always free of dates

You think nrl will allow that one night before the round starts?? you think playing games on a Thursday night in a neutral country will generate enough revenue to cover the costs?

Wouldn't it be good if all the Tongan, Samoan and Fijian players chose country over state.
It would throw Origin into chaos ( loosing roughly 10 players ) and show the NRL that although they don't take international footy seriously...the players do !
Watch them put the origin pay up again if that happened lol.

Origin impacts nearly 25% of nrl games, it’s dumb beyond belief that it isn’t played on a Saturday night with u21 and womens origin plus WA v Vic lead up games, pacific cup Int games fri and sun.
That would make far too much sense!

A few notable omissions there, Koroisau, RCG, Sims and the Saifiti brothers not unexpected but also missing Waqa Blake & Marcelo Montoya from NRL level and all of their Super League players. I assume most of the names at the bottom are there for the experience with several NSW & QLD Cup players missing out.

PNG Squad

1. Alex Johnston 2. Robert Derby 3. David Mead 4. Justin Olam 5. Terry Wapi 6. Lachlan Lam 7. Epel Kapinias 8. Wartovo Puara 9. Sylvester Namo 10. Nixon Putt 11. Daniel Russell 12. Liam Horne 13. Copy & Pasted, numbers don’t match up with position after Lam though. Kapinias is a prop, so looks like the rest have been pushed up a number.

How f**ken dumb is the scheduling. Conflicting with origin etc...

You should have heard Gus in 100% Footy on Monday night on the issue of scheduling..

Mind you, you have to take into account his general hatred of International Rugby League.

Are you being sarcastic or straight up. If you're being straight up then what's the problem? Why should a select group of Australian (and PIs that are allowed to play both) players get to play special matches and no one else is allowed to?

The stand-alone weekend is far better than the half-round-half-strength bye weeks when 36 players sit out the NRL then the following weekend another 10-15 are normally rested post-origin.

These issues could be easily solved if a dual eligible players just announces their preference Origin or Pacific Island before the series selection starts.

Typically the NRL has supposedly binned the rep weekend next year so we’ll be back to 6 Origin affected NRL weeks and zero internationals until after the season. It would be great if NZRL had the power to say fair is fair and play a test Vs Tonga directly before Origin or the night after but unfortunately that will never ever happen.

That would be a great outcome 8pm NZ time kick off could work

well they are lucky enough to have 2 parents from different countrys they can do what they want.. (i dont agree with the rules but thats the rules...)
but IDGAF who plays for who, my point was we are a laughing stock once again compared to Union, who actually play tests... f**ken let the kangaroos have a go more than once every world cup... it used to work fine, play tests whenever, and lots of em, just stop doing them during origin which leads to 'will he play wont he play' bullshit...
