Ffs. You're so far off the mark with how important Nathan is. You think you know shit but you couldn't be more wrong.

Nathan is super f**king important. Backing up from Origin? It was 5 days. A standard backup period as a regular club game.

We are only so far ahead of other teams at full strength.take Nathan out and we need luck to walk away with wins against Decent teams.

Game was Sunday night in Brisbane.

They come back Monday. Likely do minimal training before the game.

It rained all week. So I doubt they did much quality ball work and you expect the attack to flow?

Was always going to be won on defence

Just more evidence that inheriting a great roster can make a coach look good.
This is the worst take of all because we are where we are because of our defence, and these guys aren’t just so much more talented defenders man for man than the next team, the defensive structure and resilience is all the f**king coaching.

Great game of footy. Two highlights for mine was Gutherson and D.Brown both stopping Kikau scoring.
Neither side was better then the other. Penrith just played like winners while Parra played a little scared.
Parra’s pack got on top imo. Sorenson impressed me however.
Sivo should of dived for his 2nd try. Unsure why he stayed upright.

The Storm will blow the arse end out of both these sides imo. Hope I am wrong but they are 20 points a better side.

LOL what? Penrith's pack had you covered once we stopped dropping the ball and throwing forward passes like we did between minutes 7-37.

Fish absolutely dominated RCG and the rest of our pack was generally on top of yours. Only in the last 5 minutes did you guys start getting dominant field position again, and that was almost solely off the back of the boot of Moses. Panthers field kicking was very average even poor.

Haha, staines wasnt even in dylans league tonight.

I thought he looked terrible on the sweep plays. He through a few really really bad passes.

Unless he gets a lot stronger and adds some kilos to his frame he will struggle.

Parra kicked to him every time because they knew they could get him in a dominant tackle and it started us on the back foor every set.

Dylans running game and tackle breaking abikity is so underated. He is so hard to tackle and always gets us on the front foot to start a set.. which is huge. One good run at start of set can lay the platform.
Dylan is an asset and very good at many things but if you think he offers anything ballplaying then I'm not sure we have anything to discuss. That is such an awful take

Staines had 1 bad moment that was worse than Edwards. Saved a try and looked so much better on sweep plays than Edwards.

That miss on Papalli?
The early kicks because he was out of position?
Cost us 6 points atleast from that try

There was rust but that was to be expected

Dylans ball playing has gotten better every season in the nrl.

Charlie didnt show anything tonight to suggest his better or even as good.

The way we play as a side we dont need a ball playing fb. Nathan is so dominant he controls everything.

We literally went on the biggest winnig streak in club history with edwards at fb. Not sure why people are so desperate to change that.

We dont need a ball playing fb.

If Edwards and Staines are both given a clear run at the spot in the off-season with no bias then I have no doubt in the world Charlie is our new fullback

He needs a few actual games.

Take his Miss that led to their 2nd try. A better positioned fullback gets that on the full. Both his errors were from that.

Position play is something Edwards is good at both with and without the ball. Take Naden's intercept too.

The Tigers game last year. The Prelim v Souths too Edwards scored from backing up. Staines was no where to be seen.

I certainly wouldn't rush to re-sign Edwards but Staines needs more games back there

If the plan was to eventually move on edwards and play staines at fb than we shouldve kept laurie.

Laurie is 10x the ball player of charlie, he runs the ball back with 100% effort, puts his body on the line and has a kicking game.

Our fans can be so biased. Laurie has been exceptional in a shit team. Charlie has been average in a very good team. The two are basically at the same level of exposure in terms of experience and laurie is the one who looks to be the gun.

We picked Staines over Laurie for the fullback roll. That was the call 100%. They were both seen as options and we picked Charlie

Yep. And if they want a ball playing fullback it was clearly the wrong call.

Anyway. Happy to get the win. Stuff parra

Cameron Ciraldo is our defensive coach, the structures are his. Cleary's responsible for selecting May in the halves.

Edwards was regularly letting kicks bounce since he came back from his injury.

Haha. He let one bounce the other week when it was pouring and blowing a gail in the worst conditions we had played in 18 months... tonight charlie just showed no heart or determination to get to the ball. Was no ones fault but his that try.
