I think the bright side of this injury will hopefully be the extra responsibility on Kikau, Luai, Crichton and Api to step up for the team. Those guys all have another gear in them. Last year it took Nath going down for Luai to explode and Api has just sat back and fed Nath so far this year but we know he has a lot more to give if required. Nath comes back with those guys firing and we are even stronger than we were a week ago.

Definitely agree although not entirely anyone's fault. Like you said earlier we've had only a few games with the entire starting spine.

Which is why I am confident probably over confident.

We sit here with 9 games left of the season. Conceding less than 10 points a game.

Being equal 1st despite key players missing plenty of football. Blooded some guys. A few others are now Origin players.

A few issues as I saw. Staines- needs to get more involved. He has atleast 1 game back there to learn when x player offloads. How deep Crichton stands etc. things that will allow him to know when to come in. When not too.

Attack generally we do something well then after a few weeks change it up. Like using Kiks as a decoy or not. Luai running things should mean we go back to that. Hopefully keep it going with Staines getting more involved on the right.

The main thing will be confidence. Get a few wins without Cleary and then should he being missing in the big games for whatever reason we are set.

This what the good sides do. Then ramp it up come finals time. We still have a few gears yet

Yeah that must burn Eels fans. Green won't coach origin again.

I think he does. No other option

Remember when even Bellamy couldn't stop QLD... that is the opposite now.

They have nothing while NSW is full strength. Will keep Green until Walker and co are ready

Edwards breaks the first tackle nearly every run.

I think Murraymob might have been thinking about Clean breaks aka Linebreaks.

Edwards is the type of player who breaks multiple tackles, but each one slows him down and he is eventually taken down.

Some players don't make as many breaks, but when they do it is at speed and in space so they either race away or put someone else through (Linebreak Assist)

The thing you keep missing is luai doesnt get in a position to do the brilliant things he does without cleary.

Cleary guides the team around the park and has best kicking game/game management in the comp.

A lot of the reason luais stats are so good is because cleary puts us in those positions.

Burton has a long boot but findind the grass, knowing when to kick, what type etc is all areas he isnt nathan. They are different styles off players.

Having said that im glad we have burton. Just stop kidding yourself with these stats that nath isnt a huge loss
100%.

The loss of Nathan Cleary is a huge blow not only the next 4-6 weeks, even if he returns for the run in, he will be a game to game proposition and there are no guarantees his shoulder will stand up. Jerome has been brilliant, but his skill set is entirely different and I’m not sure he can deliver in the first receiver role, directing the team around the paddock or in the kicking department to anywhere near the same degree. Sure he will have an able assistant in Burton, but there has to be doubts and it is a huge blow.

Yeah, I really hope May isn't the 3rd choice centre in a team with Burton in the halves. His performance in that position was the biggest single factor (though there were several) in our GF loss. No impact with the ball and an ordinary defender without it.

Given Cleary's fitness is going to be a game to game proposition this year, May starting this game really concerns me. If Tago is considered too raw then Naden or even Capewell would be a better option.

I so hope we can somehow beat the Eels without Nathan Cleary.

I tend to think we underestimate what he really brings to our side.

I think tomorrow night will really show where we are at, without our most important player.

A lot of people will be surprised how good we are as a side. He will be a loss but overall we are better then people give us credit for.

We still have a current Origin half running the show and an Origin forward coming off the bench. That shows where we are as a side
