Well I know it's ESL but he's doing something right...

118 first grade games, Challenge cup and grand final appearances.

Got some pace for a forward, if you can see the link I posted, there is a highlight where he backs up a halfback or dummy half and sprints about 30 metres to score.

It's got a Doust bargain buy written all over it...sounds like he reached out to come down here so doubt it is huge bucks. I like his attitude...

I dont mind signing English reserve graders for depth. If we end up with Rangi as well, well have the English halves plus a back up forward.

To use a doustism. It would be beneficial to create a club culture that strengthens the brand abroad. With the marketability of the name St George in the UK we could become the NRL club that all English youngsters dream of playing for.

FFS,we complain we don't sign anyone and when we do we all whinge because he isn't a big name or something. And complain before anyone has seen him play.
Let's have a bit of faith in the club as we can see they are looking to freshen the squad up.
Just quietly i think Weyman and Creagh may not be with us next season, just a hunch.

I think they'll cut weyman and re-sign creagh to a three year deal

Parramatta signed 2 English players as well, seems a bit like flavour of the month, but seems logical since securing local talent is pretty cut-throat.

Depending whether we sign or release any other forwards, I think price might use something similar to this.
8. Dan Hunt
9. Mitch Rein
10. Jack Stockwell
11. Tyson Frizell
12. Joel Thompson
13. Ben Creagh
14. Cameron King
15. Trent Merrin
16. Mike Cooper
17. Jack De Belin

Pretty good forward pack i believe. BTW have a feeling that Weyman will be released. Hope not but.

He ain't a reserve grader he is in the starting team...

When everyone is fit he is the 18th man.

ANyone seen him play at all?? ANYONE!??

Yup.

They showed some highlights on that link I posted, it has an interview with him and some highlights.

More of a 2nd rower than a prop....

Um, I don't know. He's definately not in the burgess or james graham mould....

We play him at 13. But then Warrington play a third prop at 13. He is maybe still a bit small to a starter position on the front row. Can do good things from the bench though.

No he is not a Graham or S Burgess. Better than the other Burgess' to play super league though.

A stable pony for Gareth Widdop? You know, a friendly familiar accent to limit the culture shock of shifting clubs?

I dunno. He's young yet experienced, has the right attitude and drive. A value proposition is probably the right/only term for it

I doubt he has ever met Widdop.

He started of very well for us, and a few years ago really looked like he was going to be the goods.

Since then he has stalled in his development and maybe this change will do him good.
Hopefully as he has the tools to play well.

Anyways, good look to ya Coops.

His stats from the weekend win over Bradford for Warrington were 20 carries for 124 metres for an avge gain of 6m with 19 tackles and he gave away 2 penalties in Warrington's 32-4 win

Why is our best forward on the bench? Merrin needs to start at either 10 or 13.

8. Hunt
9. Rein/King
10. Stockwell
11. Friz
12. JT
13. Mez

14. Rein/King
15. Creagh
16. Prior/Cooper
17. JDB

Or Prior/Creagh to 13 and Mez to Prop. Would atleast give us a specialist prop on the bench

long way off nxt year but i reckon Price will be starting Merrin, probably at 13 and Thompson will be starting in the 3 shirt id say surrely Weyman will be kept and if he is retained he will start in 10

also depends on how many Dragons get moved on, do you think they will keep Cam King ?

Yeah it is a long way off till next season but I reckon Price might start Creagh at lock, depending if Weyman re-signs. If Weyman re-signs, Merrin may stay at lock otherwise I think he might move to prop. I dont think his game would change a lot if he moves there. As for Thompson, would rather see him at second row with Frizell on the other edge. They are probably a little more dangerous than Creagh at second row.

Anyway, we'll see what happens this year first.
