Miller gone...

Apparently Jacob Miller has signed with ESL. Good to see we are letting the only genuine halfback go that we can play under the current salary cap restraints - Brooks apparently cant be blooded as it will bust our cap.

Meanwhile we persist with one out of form five eighth in Marshall with a young five eighth Sironen (who imo is more of a hole running centre at this time with little creativity) waiting for an injured five eighth Anasta to come back.

Plus we are dead last and selecting back rowers to play centre with centres on the bench. Are you sure Sheens is not still at the helm?

Not surprised to hear. The ESL were very keen on him last year but WT hung on to him but now he's cooling his heels in State Cup I'm not the slightest surprised he looked again at the ESL. Its probably for the best, Potter had some issues with his controlling a game and calling the shot (I have said before Benji with his free ranging remit will cruel any halfback the club gets) and he might as well look to further his development and career in the ESL than here.

Yup. No halfback has a chance of reaching their potential with Benji & Robbie running the show.

There was a window of hope with Rob Lui before he went scumbag but since then the two other playmakers at our club have assumed control of everything. It got worse when Moltzen was fullback

If he was up to the task it would have made the loss a lot harder to swallow. He's not so it isn't.

If Miller is gone, shouldn't that free up some space in the cap to blood Brooks or other 2nd tier players?

Not that the would have been on much but surely it helps..?

That would probably be the biggest reason we let him go. Cap space seeing he wasn't going to get a run anyway.

Clearing out the lowest paid players will achieve nothing whatsoever.

The bums on the big dollars producing nothing need to go

F**k our club is a mess, what these clowns that hand out the $$$ should remember is that not every club would want any of our contracted players bar maybe 5 or 6 of them at best,so why pay overs for sub standard players that are just making up the numbers in the squad.

So very true, like others Iam not sure if he was the man, but I dont see us offloading any other players who are under contract who are under achieving.

You have to laugh on one hand we are off loading a kid who is on loose change while we are in talks to extend Benji's contract for years and he is being paid massive overs and is playing crap and has for a long time

Of course when the media release from the club comes out, the spin will be,the kid asked us for a release and we were happy to let him explore opportunities abroad. Their will be no talk of the two playing selectors wanting him out

I have heard this too. Young Miller has the attitude of Manchester United but the playing experience and ability of Apia Leichhardt.

Earn your stripes.

However, I do think it's fool hardy to be releasing anybody, especially a half, when the club has a worse injury toll than the Diggers at Gallipoli.

We need a clean up, shake out and ALT-CTRL-DEL and a refresh from the very top in our joint, especially McDonnell and Humpty.

I was listening to the radio the other week and heard that Blocker is now part of the Marketing Department or at least he was with a role regarding the marketing the St George game at the SCG a few weeks back.

This shows me that the Tigers must be running on a shoe string budget. What about the marketing department, isn't that there job, to 'market'? no lets get in some former 1st grader to do our job this week. Hold on, he's a mate of Humpty isn't he?

So yes

I agree, the mob act and think like the mob from Lambert Park rather than Old Trafford.

Don't get me wrong Miller is arrogant, cocky and headstrong.

But isn't that exactly what we need to put Benji & Farah back into their boxes concentrating on their own football?

If you were a football player of any note would you want to play football in a team with Benji Marshall? I can say personally the answer would be no. Imagine being a guy like Woodsy who earned a penalty from the kick off or slog the ball up field to watch that grinning chimpmunk grubber on the third tackle straight to th e opposition

The clubs that are continually in the market and land the big signings usually have
sponsorship backing, leagues club support and importantly third party deals to attract and keep players.WT front office needs to get its self in order as its decisions
usually reflect on how the team is travelling.
