Mini's a warrior.

Like Tallis, he was never the same player after serious injury. Mere shadow's really. He's still done well to be playing 7 long years after anything like his best. I think, in a young team with SBW on the way and quite possibly a new coach, that he's earned the right to one more crack.

We sent Morley and Fitzgibbon on their way and both were in much better form and had more seasons in them. I can't for the life of me understand why Mini gets to stay.

And we sent Fitzgibbon on his way so we could sign Solomon Haumono.

Suck it (and the tequila body slams) up Cliffy.

I don't understand how he can not feel embarrassed by his performances.

I know he was a club legend, but his insistence to keep playing has made me hate him with a passion.
I didnt know it was up to players to drop themselves. You do have a coach who is the man to do that. Classic Brian Smith - he once revealed his philosophy on dropping players when he was with us. "You dont get value for money having expensive players in reserve grade". Daniel Wagon gradually turned from average first grade outside back to a burden who couldnt run or pass. Smithy made him pivot.

The week after Smith left us, Jarryd Hayne made his first grade debut.

*Sigh* I'm sick of supporting the Roosters ...
Come on mate. Its not as bad as a stock market crash, a bad batch of Grange, or slow delivery of a new Lexus. Im sure you socialites will cope. Sip another Latte and look on the bright side - you are doing better than Gus!

He was more than happy to cut Carney and Myles last season.

The club got rid of them. Myles had to go. I thought we should have kept Carney but if the dope actually gave a f**k the club wouldn't have been in that position. From all of the players we let go its Linnett and Ryles who were hard done by not Myles or Carney.

Minichiello, like Anasta, is only playing because of the chairman. Smith has done his job by weeding out the dead shit human beings but 4 years was too long, another failure of the club.

Mini needs to retire for the club to go forward. Give RTS the gig for the rest of the year and put Mini on the wing.

I've been calling this for a while, as much as I hate to say about a club legend. He's definitely past it. I cringe when I see him make errors like last night. I guess he has too much pride to give it all away, especially after extending until next year. Keeping him in some form of role at the club except on the field would be best for all parties involved.

It makes me sad watching him play now. Mini is my favourite rooster, in lone with Freddy. His highlight reel from 2000-2005 is honestly as good as any player I've seen. Unfortunately he is now a shadow of his former self after coming back from such horrid injuries.

I think 2010 was probably the year he should have hung em up. Got back into origin, grand final, would have made sense. Now he'll need to go out with a whimper and his tail between his legs, and he doesn't deserve that.

Minichiello reached great heights due to his tackle busting ability and that came from an incredibly strong core. He had the strength of an ox in his chest and upon collision he'd bounce/bust off/through defenders easily. Completely rooting his back obviously took away his great strength - his core strength. It was the violence and force he was able to generate at impact that essentially f**ked his back. Watmough is a similar type player who in a very compact body type for the NRL has immense strength in his core enabling him to break and bounce off tackles.

A real shame as having met Anthony a couple of times he is a great person and was such a joy to watch in his prime. Definitely in the top 5 players in the game from about 2002-2005. Very sad to see a legend been lambasted by his own fans even if deservedly so. I hope perhaps he can pull something together in 2013 as to not leave such a tarnished end to his career at the club.

If Roosters are serious about rebuilding they really need to give him the tap on the shoulder

if they're serious about rebuilding they wouldnt be signing money bill merkin for a year

for the chooks fans, do you think mini may be being kept around to provide experience/leadership to the younger guys? you take him and anasta out and you're left with pearce.... SKD doesnt strike me as a leader

That is exactly why he is being kept around and I don?t have a problem with it. He can mentor the younger players next year and if his form doesn?t improve he can go to the wing. Most roosters supporters go over the top with death riding him these days, cliffy even claims to ?hate him? now. He may have blinder this week and all of a sudden he will have deserved his contract extension again.
