No, not at all. I've never been one of Pearce's biggest fans, he has frustrated me enormously over the years. However, I felt sick in that match thread last night. The constant derision by the Hive Mind was quite frankly sickening. Mitchell Pearce must be the only player in the history of the game who is expected to perform a f**king miracle with every play he's involved in. When Tedesco catches the ball on halfway, charges forward with real gusto.. NSW are in prime field position and your halfback kicks it straight to the opposition winger for a 7 tackle set.. yeah, that's tripe, that is where Pearce HAS to improve because that is known as letting your entire team down, they busted their ass in defense to get a crack at us and your halfback produces that? nowhere near good enough in that arena as a halfback, fortunately for NSW we were comprehensively outplayed so it didn't matter too much

I'm watching the game again right now and I am at the Maloney try. I have keep rewinding the Pearce bit and you can see it was Smith's error in defence and Fifi's vision to take a left hand turn to avoid the TWO QLD props in front of him and run to the gap that Smith provided and the sweet offload that made the try possible.

That's not true. His first kick which I just watched was caught on the full by Teddy but he didn't make any metres at all because it was a good kick and chase.

Is there something you don't understand about having to earn your reputation? He earnt a negative one through 15 bad games. It will take more than 1 ok game to erase that. There also no way any sane person can think he plays the world cup over Cronk/JT unless there is injuries or they want to give them a game off to not over play them.

That's fair enough. He deserves any criticism that comes his way. In think this is now his time though. He is maturing into a very good footballer. There is not really any other NSW half that is as good as him at the moment either.

I don't think he'll get game time before Cronk, JT and Maloney. I don't know how big the squad will be and they'll need to take back ups. Pearce isn't a guaranteed for that like Maloney is.

If they take 4 halfs I think Morgan will get the nod ahead of Pearce.

Not so much to play him at half, more because he will play the 14 role better than Pearce or Maloney, and in an absolute emergency can play as the starting 6.
