Mitchell Pearce

If they take 4 halfs I think Morgan will get the nod ahead of Pearce.

Not so much to play him at half, more because he will play the 14 role better than Pearce or Maloney, and in an absolute emergency can play as the starting 6.

Perhaps.
My prediction is maybe a year too early. Thurston will retire from reps after the WC, and Cronk might not be far behind.

If NSW win this year and Pearce can keep his form up he'll be next in line for future years. He actually has a really good shot now if he can be consistent.

NSW lose = Pearce is too blame
NSW win = Pearce is lucky, 16 others won it.

Embrace the inevitable people.

NSW are starting their era of dominance, and Pearce will be there every single step of the way.

Not all that wide of the mark I'd suggest. But his position for the remainder of the series isn't in doubt nonetheless.

He lacks an effective short kicking game, and he also reads the play poorly. It didn't matter this time but maybe next time it will. As I said, he's safe for this series, and thats it. Next year will depend on form. But he's a long way from the complete halfback at the highest levels of the game, and I think those who matter realise this.

You think they'll only take Cronk + JT into the Cup?

They'll definitely take a 3rd half (Maloney). Maybe not a 4th - but Pearce will be next in line. Has Milf, Hunt, DCE covered.
Not convinced. Hunt has been injured for a while, if he comes back and finishes the season strangely hes well ahead of Pearce in the line for a jersey.

Milford is a no, I think its him or Maloney and Maloney wins easy. DCE is a no unless Manly go on some crazy resurgence. However, Morgan will likely be there for his utility value, putting him in front of Mitch.

That puts Pearce 5th or 6th (depending how Hunt brings it home). As you mentioned, after JT and Cronk hang up the rep boots, he might be in with a shot, but that will depend on the ups and downs of the others blokes, plus new guys coming to the forefront.

Whatever the fans the think...that's good.
Moylan has SOO experience too.

All I meant is that we all have different opinions of players and whether they are good enough. This year Pearce/Maloney are our first pick halves with Moylan as back up.

I would imagine Morgan is next in line for the #6 jersey for Australia.

Meninga is all about loyalty to his winning teams. Morgan gets promoted from the bench. Theres nothing anyone can do the jump him IMO. Just a matter of waiting for injury to prove themselves.

Its almost impossible to get the Australian halves wrong. They are so far ahead of the other teams that Josh McCrone couldn't f**k it up.

Mitchell Pearce must be happier this morning - much of the shit has been transferred to another Mitchell.

Provided he holds his club form and improves bigly in the origin arena he will maintain his place. Still a bit premature to be popping any champagne corks if u are a Blues supporter. Was a good win but still only 1 win.

Assuming Cronk retires, he won't be playing for AUS again.

So

7. Pearce
6. Thurston

with Maloney / Morgan backing up is what should happen.
So you want Cronk out because he might retire but your happy to leave Thurston in who is retiring from rep footy. Cronk will be there if he decides to retire or not. Pearce does not deserve to wear the green and gold
