You might want to go have a look in the game day thread.

Seems plenty of Qld supporters think Pearce sucks the big one also.

Sooooo....whats their reason for calling him shit? They salty too?

Chin up sweety. He is a good player for the Chooks!
Lol obviously they're salty they just lost, you're not very bright are you?

What did Pearce really do to you? Was that your dog on Australia Day?

QLD won the game mate and you say he's not bright?

Pearce was given control of the team. We were told this was different because of no Farah and Gallen to get in his way. The organising half did no organising in the second half and not much else either other than make a few long kicks.

Also have you heard about our lord and savior Matt Moylan?

Mitchell Pearce's try was one that few other halves would have scored, because he had Cooper Cronk chasing and diving to tackle him, but Mitchell was just too fast. Cronk is one of the speediest players in the NRL, in case you hadn't noticed. That he could not run down Mitchell Pearce shows just how fast Mitchell Pearce is.

Mitchell Pearce's defence was awesome. Instead of hiding out on the edges, he got stuck right into the Qld forwards. Few other halfbacks can defend like him -- big contrast with Maloney's paper thin defence.

Fantastic summation. Let me remind you of this:

Mitchell Pearce - 0 origin series wins
Josh McCrone - 0 origin series losses

Yet where was he when he was suppose to perform his job as a halfback? He went missing.

So he is quick and can defend - perhaps he should head back to the Roosters and learn to play on the wing or at lock? Give an actual halfback a crack at the 7...

Pearce is an organising half not a creative one.

Maloney seems to be missing a lot of the flak here, the only difference between his game and Pearce's is that Maloney was shit in defence and didn't score a try.

But again use Pearce as the scapegoat, I know it helps you sleep at night.
So when is he going to start?
NSW lacked organisation and direction the whole second half. Why didn't Pearce organise his team to run at a clearly injured Thurston?
Pearce is rubbish at anything outside club football.

Exactly this. He has scored 3 origin tries in his career by backing up, but has had zero involvements in other tries throughout his origin career. He hasn't created a single try in 17 origins.

17 games - 5 wins.

in those 17 games, a total of;
6 try assists
8 line break assists
3 forced drop-outs

if he has been the only option for nsw in the last 8 years, the cupboard must be bare.

am I right in saying 5 wins from 17 is tallis' ratio as well?

I see these kind of things get thrown about all the time. Tallis had a poor win rate, Lockyer had a similar record at the same stage etc.

You know why they don't get the criticism Pearce got?
Because these guys performed. They won man of the match awards. They were usually the best in beaten sides. If you rated performances out of 10 then Lockyer and Tallis would get at least 7/10 in almost every game, and at least half their games were 8+. Pearce on the other hand has never even had a 7 out of 10 game in origin. If you were to be absolutely fair his best game at origin was probably game 2 in 2015 and that was about a 6.5/10. What he has had is too many sub 4/10 performances

comparing tallis to pearceoff is ridiculous.

tallis isn't a playmaker.

pearceoff's role is getting repeat sets, providing linebreak & try assists.

pearceoff's role is taking control of a game & then closing it out. in this regard he has been dreadful.

How is it scapegoating to point out that a guy who has gone MIA every origin he played was MIA again last night?
Sure, Maloney was poor, but at least he was trying. Pearce vanished when he was needed most, or grabbed the ball and kicked it to the fullback on the full for an easy return.

Just admit he's rubbish at that level. He has never been up to it, and never will be. Not his fault Loz picked him, but if he picks him again for game 3 we lose the series. So sad.
