Pearce did play well though, he was solid. If you can't see that you're objectively wrong.
Well every f**ker in NSW (and QLD for that matter)aside from Roosters fans, are objectively wrong.

What's that saying?
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.
That phrase rings true for NSW and their selection of Pearce.

f**k me, I think I just caught cancer reading this thread. You are right Pearce was solid. Solid is ok for a winger, a backrower, even a hooker. Solid needs to be the bare minimum standard on an off night for a rep level half. If they have only managed to reach the lofty heights of solid after 17 Origin games then gtfo.

Moylan has better stats in his last 140 seconds of football than Pearce has for the last 81600 seconds of Origin.

i understand the desire of fans to protect their "patch".

but defending pearceoff after continual non performance is delusion.

2010 - 2017. That is a lot of wriggler slurping.

he must have drained every selector's ball-sack by now.

Point of order: his first series was 2008.

Funny that nobody puts any blame on origin greats such as Sterlo,Daley and johns for constantly picking and praising Pearce. Should Pearce be man enough to turn the job down after getting selected?

They drop (both Reynolds) and hodkinson, and then try to claim loyalty, Gus should put his money where his mouth is, and coach origin again if he cares so much about it, maybe he is also waiting for the QLD quartet to retire before he puts his coaching on the line.

It's ok guys, he was solid. As long as he was a passenger and did absolutely nothing, it's ok.

He was solid. Say it with me one more time

I'm starting to see the sense of a solid 7. 24 Tackles and the ability to back up through the middle seem to be the high watermark. Josh Jackson can partner Maloney in the halves for game 3. Opens up a spot for Bird in the back row & Mansour or Vaughn can come of the bench as an impact Prop. Series victory is all but certain.

with that doof doof kicking game he has all you ask is that he doesnt give away the seven tackle sets. He gave way 2 in the second half and threw a crap pass to Hayne. He also didn't do anything.

You aren't serious are you?

For the past decade, every year without fail, people have whinged about Bob Fulton and the coach for bullshit Origin selections.

Jesus, now we are deflecting to the selectors....

Its everyone's fault except poor Bitchel Pus.

Lol you cockroaches get so feisty

So Pearce being solid is worse then some of your team just being plain shit, rightttttt

Also Moylan was only ever solid at Origin when he played there so I guess he's not good enough either.

Moylan showed more of what you need from a half in game 3 last year than Pearce ever has. No one expects Pearce to be as good as Joey, Thurston, Lockyer etc. But what you should absolutely expect is that when the team in down by 4 in the last 5 minutes that the half that has been given "ownership" of the team steps up and demands the ball. Joey, Thurston & Lockyer would take ownership of the result in that situation.

On many occasions they all fell short and still lost the game. But they never died wondering. Pearce doesnt even wonder. He just stays solid and tries to avoid f**king up. A guy like that shouldnt be in the Origin arena. If he had stepped up and had a f**king go then power to him regardless of the result. But he didnt.

Obviously I am a Moylan fan, but do yourself a favour & watch the last few minutes of the Raiders game. That game was gone & Moylan stepped up and took ownership of the game. If he had have stayed solid Penrith lose. Moylan wouldnt have been the reason they lost, if ratings were given based on the first 77 minutes he would have been a solid 7.5. Good halves dont like being solid. They want to win and they want to be the merkins that won the game.

If that's the bench mark of a solid 7 give me a gig. Heck I'll even make 25 tackles if you ask me too

The epitome of a solid halfback
