I like your posts Old Panther. But let me tell you he has matured. Pearce is going great for the Roosters. He isn't a Thurston though and never will be. I wish NSW had a champion halfback but the fact is we do not.

There is quite literally 3 players in the squad that are better than him

Maloney, Moylan and Bird. Heck, even Hayne could probably play in the halves better than him

He has not been great in Origin EVER. In 17 games.

Nobody disputes he is a great club player. But he is NOT an Origin player at all.

Other players f*cked up last night too. But they have currency in the bank. Hayne, Graham and Maloney have all produced at Origin level before. Pearce has zero currency in the bank to fall back on for yet another inept display.

That's fair. We don't have an Andrew Johns right now BUT we do have a few match winners.

I disagree and I'll give a genuine argument as to why: Moylan has one of the best passing games in the league so behind our dominant forwards we would really be able to put the QLD defence under pressure. He can also kick if he needs to, just doesn't as much because we have Nathan "Golden boot" Cleary. Lastly and most importantly he is the type of player who wants the ball in hand and looks to create opportunity when the game is in the balance and succeeds a lot of the time.

Every series it's the same shit. Pearce was a proven failure several years ago.

Anyone who defends him doesn't seem to realise that no matter his club form or circumstances, he fails.

Theres literally no worse Option than him. Hodkinson and Reynolds proved that. As acerage as they were, not being him was enough.

The ONLY fact is that Pearce is not a good Origin halfback and never will be.

That doesnt mean success can't be had with someone else. I guarantee the only name QLD want to see for Game 3 is his. The series is as good as won regardless of the other 33 players picked.
