All you morons whinging about mateo & inu.

Mateo going to earn k$400k
inu on 275k

Lets be honest. WOuld you pay that much to keep these players. We were never gonna match the offer of the warriors. Even if we offered 300k to mateo & he did stay everyone on here would be whinging that we paid overs for both.

Coach has a plan & have full trust in him. Anderson is a smart coach & he is still in charge of hagans team. At least this team actually defends. The only mistake made is mortimer being signed for 2 years. DA & PO are to blame as PO actually negotiates

Let the rest fill there rosters. Melbourne will have to shed 1 of there big 4. 1.5 million over the cap they have no choice otherwise they will have to let go of 8 or 9 players to keep the big 4. Then replace them with rookies. That aint gonna happen. 1 has to go & lets just hope its cronk

If we aren't going to replace them with anyone better then yes of course you would.

1. Hayne
6. Mortimer
7. Robson
9. M Keating
14. Humble.

That's it.... build the team schematics around these 5 and let Robbo call the shots. If we can get that stability from this 5 then we can start scoring points from all over the park most unfolding from 2nd phase plays..... a repeat of last years add hock style of play.

These 5 should all be with the Eels next year too...

1. Hayne
6. KK
7. Humble
9. Robbo

14. Mortz

I'd like Humble to be given a go as first receiver.

I thought he had a weird role last week as compared to when he came on as 14 (even playing 6) in weeks prior.

He seems to want the ball in his hands to do something with his teammates but at 6 last week, he looked lost.

KK would probably make a better centre ala Jennings and he can hit the hole between 2 players and pass to his wing man.

I have read in articles in the past that Cronk is one of the 4 that the Storm want to keep because of his organisation skills - seems everyone has an opinion.

If the guy comes out and says he wants to stay, odds are he will stay!!!!

Still, would love - for once in the last 20 years - to say we have an elite, representative halfback........ oh, the (very distant) memories.

I would say Mannah is, and always has been intended to be our replacement for Cayless once he retired. Let's face it... at the moment we've got a front rotation for next year of Fui, Mannah, Poore, and Shacks. You can't do much better than that in the era of the salary cap.

And it's well known now that Melbourne will have to release players, the club isn't going to prevent their players negotiating elsewhere after all that's happened down there and they cannot guarentee their continued employment. So if a player, or their manager, requests permission to field offers from rival clubs the Storm management are not going to say no.

well I don't agree with the way they're going about it, obviously they know more than we do but other clubs have chosen to be more proactive while we're just sitting on our hands waiting for a situation that is beyond our control..

it's f**ken crazy if you ask me but then again I could be proven in the end to being a dunce..

I miss the days of Sterlo, Kenny, Price and Guru :(
Absolute golden combination, plus Sterlo was a pretty badass bloke back in the day, didn't mind a good bit of biff, had that whole Fabio look going too.

I think you'll find every other club is doing the same thing. The Bulldogs have signed Tolman and Tandy, but they were off contract regardless. Every other club is just waiting to see what happens with Melbourne and their players before recruiting big name off contract players, makes sense in my opinion.

the dogs have also signed KK and Hodko..Greenberg has made a point that he's not waiting for the Melbourne situation to surface..

Newcastle have signed Likiliki, Henry, Kyle O'Donell and Neville Costigan.

Thw warriors have also been active..

they are 3 clubs who have shown their hand already others don't have as much to spend however others haven't lost as many first graders at this time of the transfer market as we have.

at the end of the day you could be right and we could be smelling like roses but to me it doesn't make sense.

All those players are up and comers or fringe first graders apart from Costigan. They wouldn't have payed top dollar. Clubs that have a fair bit of space for next year are probably waiting to see what eventuates with Melbourne before making a play at other off contract players.

Too expensive, too injury prone.
He will remain at Manly or go the Warriors by the look of things.

all those players would still be in their top 25, all I'm saying is that those clubs are more pro active than we are atm..

I agree it seems like they are just sitting around waiting to see what happens with the amount of players we have lost in key positions you would think they would be working very hard to sign some big names with the spare cash they have.

But like you said they may prove us wrong and hopefully they do.

pretty big gamble to let that many players go with out a plan. I would think they have something up their sleaves.

Is there any way to find out what was said at the board meeting?
