the dogs have also signed KK and Hodko..Greenberg has made a point that he's not waiting for the Melbourne situation to surface..
Newcastle have signed Likiliki, Henry, Kyle O'Donell and Neville Costigan.
Thw warriors have also been active..
they are 3 clubs who have shown their hand already others don't have as much to spend however others haven't lost as many first graders at this time of the transfer market as we have.
at the end of the day you could be right and we could be smelling like roses but to me it doesn't make sense.
The dogs have paid overs for young players... that is always a risk that may come off 1/3 times. It also means that they wont have the $$ to go after melbourne players, they have shown their hand but tbh KK, Mortz and Robo have not worked in the halves this year so can we afford to pay big $$ to keep guys like KK when we have already gambled on Mortz.
The club is going after an experianced half (Cronk, Kimmorley, Barrett or Orford are the only ones on the market) and Cronk is the best option. If it doesnt come off and Cronulla or the Dogs can no longer afford to keep Kimmorley or Baz we can make a move (unlikley to happen because both dont want to move anyway). Orford isnt the best halfback but he is a proven player over long period of time and would be another option. TBH I would prefer to have Humble and Mortz in the halves then keep KK on overs (i would prefer to keep KK over Mortz but not on overs considering we have already paid overs for Mortz).
