all those players would still be in their top 25, all I'm saying is that those clubs are more pro active than we are atm..

And at minimum wage. I know what you're saying and it makes sense. But for other clubs who are interested in snagging a prize recruit it wouldn't make sense to waste salary cap space on lesser players when you have the option of signing a superstar.

Just a scenario. If Grothe has walked out on the club could his money be used to acquire a player for the rest of season 2010 if signed before midnight tomorrow ?

Depends what he's on. Two thirds of his conract would already have been paid to him. I think the NRL extended the June 30 deadline to mid July after the Storm affair, so might be hope yet for depth signings.

Timana's time out a top move

THERE'S plenty of scuttlebutt about internal tensions between Daniel Anderson and Parramatta players, but one Eels star who might appreciate the coach is Timana Tahu.

Rattled after his racism row and suspension, Tahu asked Anderson for compassionate leave to clear his head. He was granted the entire week off and travelled back to Newcastle to be with relatives, before returning to attend Monday night's reconciliation meeting with Andrew Johns.

LAST night's meeting between Anderson and his superiors at Parramatta Leagues Club was a watershed moment. Although the coach is only answerable to the Leagues Club board, the Football Club directors - including legends Ray Price and Eric Grothe - also attended to personally hear from the man responsible for Parra's poor form.

Should we make a list of all the ex Parramatta half backs and five eights currently playing NRL or there abouts for other clubs?

Maloney
Hodkinson
Green
Smith
Keating (going)

Are there any others?
