I presume next season it will be:
6. Mortimer
7. K Keating (or swapped 6/7, doesn't really matter)
9. M Keating
14. Mitchell
...with Humble learning the trade down here and maybe getting a start second half of the year or through injury (like Morts)

With a pack going forwards - and including Fuifui :fist: - that shouldn't be a problem, as it hasn't been in the back half of this season.

Pretty spot on Bart and how I see it too.

haha.

1. Hayne - but reverts to 5/8th in attack
2. INU
3. Reddy
4. Tahu
5. Grothe
6. Burt - But reverts to fullback
7. Mortz

Humble for 6 in case.

In attack?

Um, what's the difference?

Burt floats whilst HaHa stays out at second receiver all the time?

hahahah.

Mark my worlds. Hayne will be the best 5/8th in the world in probably about 4 years time.

I still reckon Hayne will be tried at 6 in the trials and barring injuries to the backline, I reckon he might just slot there.

What about all this Jack Gibson thing about picking your best players first and then let them work out where they should play. A bit like Sterlo and Taylor.

Our best 7 backs are : Current 1-6 + Tahu.

You can't say KK is better than any one of the current 1-6 on form and accomplishments this year.

And Robson has not put ink to paper as yet.

We are talking about next year... Four years from now he may be in France and or the end of the world as we know it might have happened.

That is why I suggested that he may be at Hooker, if the halves are others. ;-)

Can't see us letting Fui go, him,Hayne and Hindy are easily our 3 most important players.

Well, to add a little more mystery to this thread, one of my colleagues who has Rooster contacts, has stated today that BS has told the staff he will try and get Burt for next year and see if he will ask for a release.

Big concern that they have no pace in the backs , Iwi got run down by Luke O'Donnell and then Shane Tronc last week, and another rumour has started. generally he has good stuff if it concerns the Rooters

Burty's already said himself publicly only recently (and he doesn't have a manager) that he is here next year

We were also told that we only had $250k in the cap left to spread between 4 players... :sarcasm:

Rumours - Rumours - Rumours - Rumours

And there still working hard on Burgess joining the Eels in 2011. DA is keen on Burgess.

There are a few other top notch players there negotiating with for 2011 both in the ESL and NRL. One of these players used to play for the Eels.

It also appears with DM quickly rising up the charts, another surprise packet to be announced probably late Oct/early Nov 2009, that Jonathon Thurston is no longer an option.

Lets see what unfolds......

Thank goodness Thurston is off the maybes!

I'd be happy with a Burgess/Moimoi swap for 2011. Don't want to see Fui leaving any earlier.

Here's hoping that the surprise packet is only a third-string back-up half on $55K and no more... I don't think the squad really needs much more, unless some of the Wenty guys (Weller, Oake) decide to leave early and chase a future, and we can use that cash more wisely.

Chasing a top notch ex-Eel for 2011...? I'd be grasping at straws if I started to try and guess.

Solomona or Jason Cayless??? They'd be getting on a bit you would think, can't really think of anyone else.

Are there any Top Notch ex-eels left?

Tahu was but who else that can still prove his worth?

1. Ryan - but don't need him.

Releasing Fui would just make the signing of Poore seem less important. I always thought you guys got Poore to strengthen your front row. I mean imagine Fui in your front row next year after what hes done all season. Then think of Poore next to him after what HE did to Fui last Friday. Makes me sh*t myself just thinking about it haha.

Spag told me himself a few months back that not only is he signed for next year but were looking at extending his deal at the club.

tbh if he ends up leaving than I'd be pretty pissed considering we were told that no player needed to make way for any new signings.

I thought you told us a while ago that the Tahu signing will come at a price(like someone will have to go to cover that) ?

Morts is deffinately being groomed to run this side from 7
Humble from what im told from a guy who watches him in QLD is definately the goods.

1 Hayne
6 Humble
7 Mortimer
9 MK
14 KK>>will be an exeptional and explosive interchange

That will cover parra for the next five years in critical positions.
Possible 3 premierships in that time with the forward pack we will have..
My prediction..my opinion.;-)
