More INU speculation....

Good question, but I believe we have far more attacking options with Mortimer, Keating and Mateo sharing both sides of the ruck.
TBH, Mateo can play a 5/8ths role from lock anyway, so I reckon we are better served with all 3 on the field from the start.
Obviously, KK can play a rovers role throughout the game if needed.

Suity

Well when Hayne was playing fullback with KK in the halves he played alot more as a whole hitter rather than a first reciever and that would be his main role IMO.
In the line Hayne and Mateo will both probably play as a second 5-8 (Hunt like). KK and Mortz both seam to play better off 2nd phase play so I would like to see Mateo carrying the ball later in sets (3rd or 4th tackles rather than 1st or 2nd) and bring guys like KK and Mortz into play allowing them to feed guys like tahu, Inu and Reddy the ball earlier.

Good thing about having Mateo still playing a play making role is that he is more dominant around the left side of the field. KK is dominant on the right. Idealy they wouldnt stick to their sides of the field, but its comforting to know that we are well served with play makers.

Mortimer is also a dominate left hand side player, this allows Mateo to use his skills without having the preasure having to kick long or put kicks in the ingoal.

Mateo is at his best using his short passing game or chipping and chasing but he needs to be given freedom to do this from lock. Earlier this year he was running it up early and not looking to offload, which has to change because he offers more to the team then that.

Mateo plays his best when he is at lock.

When he plays 5/8 he is burdened with responsibility of alway trying to create something on nearly every play.

In case of Injury..... Mateo would be able to step into the 5/8 posy and do a job for a few games but eventually he runs out of ideas.

Feleti is a skillful / freakish lock who needs free reign to play what he sees.

6. Mortimer
7. K Keating
13. Mateo

remember that DA's tactics have evolved since mateo went down injured, we are now playing more expansive, something which mateo will thrive on with an open licence

In regards to next year, are we going to go through a phase of not clicking for awhile. The last 2 seasons we have heard many a time that the team needs time to click. With new players coming into the squad and yet again we have to form another combination in the halves, when do yout think the Eels will hit top form.
I guess when looking at the Bulldogs this year, they clicked pretty much straight away so hopefully Parra will be dominant right from the get go. Don't feel like playing catch up ball again next year.

We also have 3-4 props making good contributions whereas at times in the last season or two we have had Fui playing a lone hand.

Ando made the comment that player who arn't as good at offload were and making mistakes thus stoping players who could offlaod (i.e Hindy and Caylo) because they dont wanna make errors.

IMO DA may have been talking about Mateo and his offloading leading to errors. DA may want mateo to be more selective in his offloading.

With Steve Turner about to sign with the Dogs the Inu/Bulldogs speculation should be just about over.

With the way some of our players are producing offloads at the moment, just wait until Mateo is back :D

With Hayne lurking behind the ruck, Mateo attracts 3/4 defenders and slips a pass to Hayne - TRY

Mate I think Inu will profit most, Mateo loves the left edge. I hope when Mateo comes back it gives Inu more space to work with. I'd love mateo to use his short passing game to put someone like Inu into a gap.

Finch used to put Inu into good gaps, morts/robson need to hit him on the chest more when we are 10 out, inu hits the gaps at speed.

What I liked about INU against the Dogs was that he went outside of Idris. It was a tad Tahu like.

He didn't cut back in as he used. When tries to go outside, Burt should cut back inside to change the angle for support.

However, we still didn't really see INU stretch out.

Hayne is fast but is INU still fast? (BTW, you can't compare with IDRIS. He's slower than a wet dog strapped to a 200kg fat woman!)

He's very strong but not really as quick as he seems, he was found to be very slow off the mark in defence the other night.

The media go on about Idris but really, how hard is it to put a big guy out on the wing where the smaler blokes usually are, get the ball to him, and he breaks tackles?

He hasnt set the league world on fire in my opinion. A Winger/centre with a little skill can leave him for dust. It was proved Saturday night!

Although he made a few mistakes...... Thought INU had a very good game against the Dogs, dare I say he's starting to hit his stride again. He got around Idris a few times. Ben Smith had a good game as well.

Penguins been playing well as a forward. I dont think he has it as a centre any more.

I'd still like to see Inu create an actual break for himself. Every other player in our three-quarter line can do it yet he still seems unable to.
