Love the fact that the media is talking it up finally.

Can't see why we can't pay out half his contract as suggested in the 'don't make the final eight clause'.

Surely there's someone who will come onboard for the cost of the other half of the contract for two years and then, based on success, be given extension and back on normal salary.

I heard talk of a Payton/Skando package from inside the club.
Sounds like Lamb/Langers.... but.....just a whisper.
Cheap if nothing else.

Just saw it get a mention on the 7 news report. Said that Sheens position was in doubt, then cut to him responding at the post game press conference. He looked grumpy and said that is the club's decision.

Sheens has your club by the short and curlies.

He's not going anywhere and he knows it.

You've got to give equal consideration to who replaces him as well.

This bed was made a few years ago with these uncalled for contract extentions and the board giving up their nuts to the coach over contract terms - so for now you will have to lie in it.

Bet those KPIs would have come in handy now too. Funny how things turn out.

I seriously don't care who replaces him.
I just want him gone and a new direction taken.

A new direction can also include a Terry Lamb style train wreck. Unless they are
replacing him with someone with genuine credibility (eg: Daniel Anderson) then
it isn't worth the risk.

These fan base style driven campaigns can have ridiculous consequences, like not
signing Willie Mason. It wouldn't surprise me if the Tigers put Todd Payten in
charge because he is popular with supporters (despite next to no experience).

By all means, give him is marching orders, but we don't need a knee jerk
replacement. It is unfortunate that he has two years to run and not one.

I'm sure folkes would jump at the opportunity to be a full time coach again. He made a decision to leave WT after Tim signed on again last year from memory.

I'd have zero problem with Folkes after his recent stint. Just so long as they don't go
silly and give it to payten because he is popular (no disrespect to payten, but he needs
to finish his apprenticeship).

Giving people jobs because they are popular is akin to what sheen does, which is
employ his old pals (namely bloody royce the defensive king).

I just had to laugh,Tom Shines telling people "I will walk" if that is what the club wants!!!Trying to get a sympathy vote, he forgot to tell us he will pick up half million at the front desk on the way out the door.

Keep him on and give him Royce's job on the witches hats next year just for a laugh!,,,

"In front of a home crowd, the Tigers were in a class of their own - NSW Cup, in fact."
Good quote from Josh Rakic in the SMH, reporting on the same 'Sheens will walk (but he won't)' post game conference.

Sheens will walk away from Tigers if asked

Josh Rakic

Wests Tigers 6 Melbourne Storm 26

WESTS TIGERS coach Tim Sheens says he will move on from his decade-long post as head coach of the club if officials ask him to do so.
Speculation has been mounting the veteran coach would be shown the door if the Tigers didn't make the finals this season. And after last night's loss at the hands of Melbourne Storm at Leichhardt Oval, the coach took time to answer his critics, who say three finals series in 10 years is not good enough.
"If they decide to move me on, then they'll move me on," Sheens said post-match. "That's the club, it's not me. That is something out of my control. It's something for the club to consider. There will always be speculation about the coach when a season drops away. Two weeks ago there wasn't that issue, two weeks down the track there is. But my plans are we've got to work hard to improve on what went wrong this year."

Without captain Robbie Farah, and with their fifth halves combination, the Tigers were a shambles against the Storm. Sheens said depth was a big issue for the club, a responsibility he shared, and that there would be a thorough season review. "Like every club who missed the eight, there will be heavy reviews and we'll look hard at that again," Sheens said. "From the staff down, it'll be a complete club review and then give them all some time off and back into training six weeks after the grand final. We'll review everybody's injuries and issues and sit down and have a one-on-one with everybody."
Star halfback Benji Marshall was just as honest, admitting his performances in recent weeks had been well below standard.
"I'm not going to lie - I wasn't happy with my game today," Marshall said. "It wasn't one of my best, but not through lack of trying. I probably tried too hard. Obviously, we missed Robbie. Robbie has played Origin, for his country and he is our captain. When we work together, it's a lot easier when he takes control of that ruck and I can play my normal role. But that's not an excuse."
Sheens said: "Our depth needs to be improved - we really need to look hard at that because we really had trouble when one or two of our key players dropped out. It's just a season of disappointment."
In front of a home crowd, the Tigers were in a class of their own - NSW Cup, in fact. And while Melbourne were dragged down to their sloppy level at times, it was clear from the outset who would be playing finals football next week. The final scoreline confirmed it.
Other than a short spurt either side of the break, the rudderless Tigers never looked in the match.
But it wasn't all sunshine and lollipops for Craig Bellamy either, with try-scoring centre Will Chambers leaving the field with a serious hamstring injury that could rule him out of next week's qualifying final with South Sydney. Second-rower Todd Lowrie also suffered a pec injury that will be assessed today.
Regardless, Bellamy is confident the likely returns of Jason Ryles, Anthony Quinn and Justin O'Neill mean his side won't lose any ground to the Rabbitohs in Melbourne.
The super coach will come up against his protege Michael Maguire, and had a grin on his face as he described an in-form Souths outfit.
One got the sense he was proud of Maguire's achievements in his first season as an NRL coach. And both he and captain Cameron Smith were only too aware of the threat former teammate Greg Inglis posed.

From today's SMH set of six:

One of the things proved by the sorry exit of Wests Tigers over the last two rounds - apart from the fact they weren't up to it this year and the team and coach Tim Sheens have been together too long - is that Robbie Farah is the most important player in the team. No disrespect to Benji Marshall, but so much of what the Tigers do starts with Farah and his great decision-making and skill out of dummy half, particularly inside the opposition's 20-metre area. Marshall also seems more prone to error when Farah is not there, perhaps from trying too hard in his absence. That was the way it looked against Melbourne. Farah missed the losses to the Storm and Sydney Roosters with a broken hand. Yesterday, via Twitter, Farah admitted: ''We weren't good enough this year and we have a lot of work to do. #noexcuses''. He also asked Tigers fans to stick solid, saying: ''Everyone is gutted how it has panned out but you find out the true character of people during the tough times. Hope to see you all get behind us in 2013. #longoffseason''. The thing about the Tigers, though, is that in recent years there has developed a certain sameness about them. The window of opportunity, when it comes to winning a premiership, has probably shut on them until there is serious change.

The New Zealand Warriors eye under-fire Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens

UNDER-PRESSURE Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens may be shopped around to the New Zealand Warriors. The Daily Telegraph understands Sheens will meet Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys and chairman Davod Trodden this week to discuss the club's horrible season.
Pre-season favourites, Wests Tigers won 11 of 24 games this year to miss the NRL finals.
Sheens' position at the club was heavily discussed at a recent Wests Tigers board meeting. He still has two years remaining on his current deal - the payout and expense of hiring a new coach could cost the club about $1 million.
Wests Tigers are financial battlers, although the new broadcast deal will give all clubs some financial freedom.
Sources close to the Warriors are aware Sheens' future at Concord has suddenly become clouded. The Warriors are watching the situation closely.
Wests Tigers officials are publicly supporting Sheens, despite the Tigers end-of-season misery.
Some figures at the Tigers though feel Sheens has achieved all he can at the club and that the playing group is stale.
There isn't though an enormous amount of well credentialed coaches on the open market at the moment. If Sheens wanted to leave for Auckland, the club wouldn't stand in his way.
Humphreys said Sheens position was "not under review".
The Warriors are searching for a new coach after punting Brian McClennan a month ago.
The Warriors have also been linked to Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy. Bellamy has another season remaining at AAMI Park and would be reluctant to leave the Storm playing group. He is particularly close to Melbourne's 'big three'-- Cooper Cronk, Billy Slater and Cam Smith.
Bellamy has also been linked to the Sydney Roosters, who are expected to part company with Brian Smith after next season.
Sheens has won four premierships to stamp himself among the coaching elite. He has though made the finals just three times in the past 15 years. Sheens masterminded Wests Tigers stunning grand final win in 2005 but the club has failed to reach any similar heights since.
Tigers legend Steve Roach told Channel 10's The Game Plan that Sheens should be moved on.

Good to see the pressure mounting. Getting a good look at Sheens under pressure now.

Interesting.

Very unlike Pritchard.
Perhaps supercoach was remiss in not forwarding his annual subs and Pritchard is seeking revenge.
Supercoach probably thought `we got this' after we beat Parra in a trial

Wow was shocked to read pritchards article. He has been sheens biggest supporter in the media.

I now have a feeling sheens may walk and has told a few ppl. I seriously could not imagine Pritchard writing this otherwise.

Interesting.

It won't be so fantastic if he moves to the warriors and takes Benji with him. Benji
is priceless in terms of marketing for the Tigers.

Sheens is the bloke with all the power, and he looked pretty relaxed in that press
conference.
