Correct Reefy.

Football operations encompasses :-

Coaching
Football management and admin ( contract negotations , schedule planning, travel arrangements etc)
Strength and conditioning
Physio and recovery
recruitment and junior development

All overseen and run by our football club board and our CEO who answers to the board.

So again for the arguementative among us, incase it wasn't clear enough the first time......" other factors despite coaching make players want to leave"

After the season they have just endured, one would expect the "Indians" to be restless. Be surprised if there was any other reaction. Perhaps Gallen didn't have an injury for the Canberra game and things now are getting a bit Sticky.

Yeah just ask Danny Nutley - offer too good to refuse , 3 months later he's back with the rorters , if that doesnt say something about the situation at Sharks nothing does

fair point squid. Money of course plays a part. The task of the football club is to retain players due to it being a place players enjoy being at and want to play at despite offers coming from other clubs/sports.

All of those football club depts that I list above go towards making a club "attractive" for players to either remain at, or come to.

We are very attractive to players. Greg Peirce told the CSSC, and he wouldn't lie.

Beeker , my point is that Nutley desperately wanted to get out of the sharks for the reasons you've outlined , and then as soon as he was out he's come back to the NRL with another club

Very true squiddy, bloody shame isn't it ?

PJ, despite the delusions of our Football Club board and our CEO, actions speak far louder and the results of recruitment/retention tell a vastly different story on how " atttractive" or otherwise our club is.

Our CEO of course HAS to say we are "attractive" as to say otherwise would be to be critcising himself and his board, however I think it's plain for most people to see that obviously our club has a problem with being a club plaeyrs want to play at , and for.

Every player that has left, the club thru the CEO has pretty much had an "explanation" for. They have provided this explanation to try and "distance" themselves from the decision of popular players, or players who fans believe are talented and should have been kept, to leave.

Ie- We offered X player more than what they went to Y club for, so it's not our fault.

Infact I believe this arguement highlights our board and administrations failure to build the club into a desirable place to be and play at. That is, if players are leaving for less money elsewhere, houston, we have a problem !

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the CEO told us that they were aiming to make the Club very attractive to players using the $9.6mil upgrading the training facilities aswell as the stand etc. I thought he admitted that this had been a problem in the past and they were hoping the new facilites would fix that problem as the lifestyle isn't enough of a selling point anymore.
