Most Annoying TV Commercials

Google Pixel 8 Pro phone ads on YouTube. The auto tuned music used in the ad gets stuck in my head and pisses me off badly.

I will never buy one as a result. FU Google.

The raft of Christmas ads coming out now especially The Aldi one with the I Had the Time Of My Life theme and also Woolworths where the kids are dressed up as prawns and fruit and vegetables.

I'm starting to regret Neil Diamond making Sweet Caroline famous.
That bloody Jim Beam ad where everyone's singing it in the pub, the chorus over and over and over, geez.
How about adding...
"Hands
Touchin' hands
Reachin' out
Touching me, touching you :)

It’s incredible! That song was recorded in 1969 - 55years ago. Apparently written about JFK’s daughter following his assassination. The fact that it gets played over the PA at RL games never ceases to amaze me.

It's a bit like an anthem. Everyone seems to know it and I've sung it in buses on footy trips.
I just wish people would learn the words. It's a bit like Waltzing Matilda. Hardly any Aussies know the words.
I was embarrassed one day when a kiwi asked me "what's a Matilda"
Of course I didn't know.
A quick search later on revealed that it is an old Aussie swag (bedroll) on the end of a stick. You would put the stick over your shoulder and start walking...as you do the swag would sway or waltz :)

Yes. It’s a song about a homeless, unemployed, sheep thief.

I'm kinda surprised that nobody has nominated all those Telstra ads with the stop-motion animals. They don't particularly bother me, but I've heard a few people be annoyed at the randomness of them.

Yes and no. Killed by the local constabulary, or took his own life - much if a muchness. Was written around the time of the shearer's strike and acab was part of it.

Those Olympics ads are starting to wear thin.
There‘s one about a Paralympics swimmer, where the townsfolk get together and sort out a swimming lane for him in some farmers dam.
I get so outraged.
I mean, all the money into disability awareness and Paralympics and the poor disabled bugger has to train in a filthy dam. Unreal.
