I really loved Dazza. He didn't get the recognition he deserved for sticking it out in that part of our history. A bloke who really did give 100% every week. I wished he stayed an extra year to get a premiership ring....he would have fitted into that Sheens mobile forwards strategy well.
Trent Barrett as a head coach must be getting up there.

Well, the question was asked at the time (4 or 5 years ago) and these were matter of fact observations. The achievements you listed happened in the future. The question wasn’t whether squiddy would become a future achiever. He was already one of the games best fullback at the time. Not sure what your point is.Let's see since then has -
Won 2 NRL Grand Finals (2018 and 2019);
Played in the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 State of Origin series in which they won 3 opf the 4 series, and he cpatained the winning 2021 team;
Played 4 tests for Australia;
Won the Brad Fittler Medal for best NSW Origin player in 2018;
Won the Wally Lewis Medal for Origin player of the series in 2019;
Won the Dally M Medal in 2019.
So yes, gee he has achieved little eh?
I remember reading that when the rumours began circulating that Manly were going to hire him and thinking we were insane. The bloke was a disaster, even with Penrith’s abundance of riches in the juniors, and we were going to trust him to rebuild our team? I feel for the Bulldogs fans, they’re going through what we went through from 2016-18.Couldn't even win a NYC title coaching PENRITH
2013 Premiers (Brennan)
2014 Ninth (TBaz)
2015 Premiers (Brennan)
A pot plant as coach would have at least made the semis in 2014 with that side. And the only reason we finished that high is Barrett got moved to assistant in NSW cup and we went on a run once he was out of the way.
I was shocked when you guys hired him. It was some funny shit for a non Manly fan to see it play out exactly as we knew it would. History is repeating at the Dogs, and it still amuses me. You just can't fix stupid.I remember reading that when the rumours began circulating that Manly were going to hire him and thinking we were insane. Awww I liked Luke Burt. Ever reliable.
Luke Burt was a complete plodder for 22 games a year, then look like Billy Slater and Steve Renouf combined for his 2 games against the Tigers

Andrew Ettinghausen is the obvious one.How many of the 300 club never won a premiership? I don't wish to talk down their achievements because one of them (Simon Mannering) is the GOAT of NZ rugby league, but just interested.
So Mannering and Hindmarsh the only ones? Or do we count someone like John Morris who played for Newcastle in 2001 but not in the finals series?
bloke played 40000 rep games tho.Andrew Ettinghausen is the obvious one
3 time premiership winner Aubuson to youbloke played 40000 rep games tho.
John Morris/Aubusen/Tolman are basis for this thread.
He won a few awards at the dally ms, best lock, beat captain. I think he also held a record for most tackles in a seasonHas Alan Tongue been mentioned in this thread? He was the first player that popped into my head.
