Most memorable Warriors game

Was the '03 Broncos game in Auckland with the massive fight?
Yep. The 2003 game had the Betham / Guttenbeil / McGuire / Webb all-in brawl (I still remember the reaction of the crowd when they saw the slow-motion replays on the big screen!).

The 2002 game had the Webcke / Campion stoush, that one was more for comedy value I think - it always makes me laugh anyway. :D

There was that game in Melbourne when Ali scored after the bell to tie the game, 2001 maybe ?

Radio Sport used the commentary in promos for a long time
Maybe this was 1998? Tony Tatupu (I think?) scored after the bell to make is 24-21 to us.

I remember when the Storm entered the comp and had 4 wins in after 4 starts and then got road blocked by the Warriors to lose their first game, it may not have been a top Warriors game and may have been that 24-21 score line above but it started the rivalry between the 2 clubs

The game against the dogs in Wellington sticks out for me, I remember we were down, come back through a Justin Morgan offload to Clinton Toopi to tie it up at 24 all just to see Stace miss one of the easiest kicks of his career.

Sharks in the prelim final 2002 was a great game too, toe to toe. Meli vs Mellor, Jones vs Kimmorley, Peachey vs Cleary, Bird vs Hohaia, Toopi vs McKenna.

Broncos 03 is a memorable one for me too, the one where Faumuina did the overhead pass to Tuimavave.

Yeah that bulldogs game in 2001 when we made that comeback is stuck in my memory too. After Clinton put the ball down for the try I remember thinking game set match, but watching Stacey line up the kick he never looked confident and it seemed like he brought the ball back a fair bit more than normal.

LOL well if I made that much of a c**k up of it maybe it wasn't so memorable :p

I was actually thinking that it was 98 or 99 then got into my head that it was the game that earned the Warriors their 1st finals berth so changed to 2001. Was sure Ali had something to do with it though, could be wrong there too though

For me, although a loss, I would rate the very first game the most memorable.
Huge anticipation, great atmosphere, packed stadium, great pre-game entertainment and against the legendary Broncos.

Good game too. We were leading at 3/4 time. I don't remember too much of the game although I remember some flowing back line moves. Very exciting.

I know defence wins games but it is a shame it has to be at the expense of open, flowing football.

I know the sport of league was a winner that night.

Warriors vs Roosters, Round 21, 2007.

31-31 after extra time. Was amazing and sickening at the same time.

This was an amazing game!

Most memorable games that stick out for me are the Bulldogs mauling of 2003 and the Tigers semi-final of 2011 where we defied some unbelievably bad refs to steal the match.

That Tigers game was amazing that even with13 players and two refs against the Warriors (and I thought one was binned during that game? Inu maybe) they still won!

I liked the Storm Warriors game where we beat them from position 8 in the first week of the finals. I have an image of Witt holding the ball in the air for what seemed like an eternity before putting it down. Can't remember what year that was.

2008, we then got a home semi against the Roosters and won, then lost to Manly in the GF qualifier

I remember that Manly game, we actually turned up and butchered an early try before Manly ran away with it. That was the year they beat the Storm 40-0 in the GF, they were unbelievable.

The most memorable ones for me are relatively recent ones, due to them being through some somewhat hot n cold times. Two vs Storm games...the famous Witt gloat n try game, then the more recent playoff game to knock them out and send us to the GF- Our most complete performance IMO. And the Tigers come from behind win with Inus flukey right place at right time try.
They are probably most memorable due to being recent. Older years seem to mish mash into highlights packages in the mind!
I guess THE most memorable game would be the first game vs Broncs in '95. After waiting so long for our team, it's a moment I'll always remember. And the best possible result. Not so much a win to send the hype into the Stratosphere, but a good competitive loss against a great team with wall to wall league stars

There is a definite rivarly/big game feel when the Storm play the Warriors and you can guarantee a good match, much like the Warriors/Broncos games of the 2000's

There's a few to choose from, for me I'd have to go the 13-12 win over the Broncos for the first time in 2001.

...the Warriors 2003 semi final win over the Bulldogs and the GF qualifier over the Sharks in 2002 which was a grinding win.

Warriors vs Roosters, Round 21, 2007.

31-31 after extra time. Was amazing and sickening at the same time.

There are a few. I said the Bulldogs QF in 03 in the other thread and that sticks out the most, the next week against Canberra where we won thanks to a Stacey Jones field goal stands out too.

Others that stand out are the Storm Preliminary Final in 2011 which is one of the best performances by a Warriors side I've seen, Sharks PF in 2002,

Special mentions to the Rabbitohs game in 2006 Where we slaughtered then 66-0,
Warriors v Bunnies 2007....Toddy Turtle going over in the last minute thanks to a perfectly weighted crossfield kick.

I was at all of those matches, and awesome games they were indeed. Probably can't go past that first win over the Broncs though, I remember us hanging on like grim death in the last 10 minutes, Clinton Toopi taking Shane Webcke down in a 1 on 1 tackle about 10m out from our line at one point. It was a bloody cold night and there were only 11-12,000 there but the crowd went nuts at the end!

I remember watching that game it was intense. It was about the time the Warriors showed they had potential to match it with the big guns rather than just once off

Yep, should add their win over Parra at Mt Smart (ending the minor premiers' winning streak) in the same season to that too.

The 2011 finals run v Tigers & Storm. This is mainly for personal reason because Tigers & Storm were my two most despised teams.

That Tigers game - it was disgusting. No one remembers it because Warriors won, but I've never seen a more obvious attempt by a referee to get a team over the line. The Tigers had that game handed to them on a silver platter. I don't remember wanting an opposition team (Warriors) to win so badly, just because of how ridiculously unfair the match was. Luckily NZ won in the dying seconds, due to their flair, & Tigers arrogance.

Then to beat the cheats at their own game when everyone expected them to steamroll you guys, & the devastation of Cameron Smith. "I can't believe we lost....." One of the more arrogant things I've heard in RL.

Warriors were the avengers that year lol.

Also have to mention the 2002 GF. Stacey Jones' try is my favourite ever GF try.

Looking back we didn't disgrace ourselves in the grand final either, those few weeks were up there with the best times in our short history.

And to think that was only 2 years ago! Can still picture that storm game, cutting loose at the pub after the winning try! F*ck bring on the season already!!
