It could easily draw that many people but then given the way the Dragons finished the season will there be enough of the bandwagon left?
I believe there would.
It's a grudge match.

I would guess that the people who want it moved aren't STH and pick which games they turn up to. I think it would be worth stating in you reply if you are a STH and reason e.g. bigger gate taking, closer to home, better facilities, chance of better seat etc.
It is but given that we have only ever had more than 20,000 people at a Parramatta Stadium home game once (Rnd 18, Jul 05) I don't think we'd come close to 30,000. A finals game.... yes. Round 1, we won't sell out.
I would rather watch my eels play in a close to capacity Parra Stadium then watch them play at ANZ where you will see more empty seats then occupied ones. If the game was being played later in the year and both teams are on fire you would look at moving the game to ANZ cause you will be certain to get a good showing but for a round 1 clash I couldn't justify it.
1999. Round 1.
Double Header at Homebush.
St George vs Parra.
Newcastle vs Manly.
Attendance: 104 583

you can't compare that!
 As many people were there to watch the football as they were to be at the opening of the stadium..... Honestly Suity, it isn't a valid comparison.
STH need to be thought of as they are one of the most important aspects of the club, just ask souths and why they make such a push to increase numbers. It is not just the numbers who turn up for the big games like the dogs, it's the ones who turn up on a cold rainy saturday night to watch the raiders or warriors that support make the club.......
We shouldn't be just thinking about ourselves and our season ticket seats in this day and age, we should be thinking about our club, and the game as a whole - and a spectacle.
As I said before.....why turn away fans at ANY game, if we have a chance not to?

Yeh, I know, but I thought I'd give it a shot!!
Seriously though, 2 years ago, we got 55 000 for a semi vs the Bulldogs. This year we got 75 000.
There is a huge market out there, if only we could tap into it properly.
Locking them out by choosing a smaller venue ain't tapping into the market.

Until we achieve more than a couple of sellout games at parra we shouldn't move. Last year the home game against the dogs sounded more like an away game for us and has been noted in the past the crowd can help bring the team home in a close game.
Add to that the cost of parking and drinks/food are more expensive at ANZ.
Suity, should the grand final be moved to Melbourne?
and I think our fans won't be disheartened by the GF loss like they were in 2001 - cos the GF appearance last yr was totally unexpected - our fans will be excited
actually - public transport wise... thats a good point...I reckon more people would turn out at homebush on a friday than at parra
