Maloneys contract possibly not going to be approved by the NRL due to a third party sponsorship problem.
No doubt It will get sorted eventually but how funny would it be if Maloney ended up seeing out his contract with us, because of a Gould blunder.

Sounds more like a Maloney blunder - he's let the cat out of the bag about how TPAs are really working....
Keno had a 'non-club sorted' TPA with Moylan for £200k, which they cancelled when he left Panthers. Jimmy then suddenly gets offered a £200k 'non-club sorted' TPA from guess who... Keno.... The paper work is being lodged and Jimmy mentions that he's waiting for the club to sort the deal with Keno, so now the NRL are obliged to look at it and knock it back - TPAs cannot be arranged by the club (well a small amount can, but it counts on cap) - Panthers don't have cap space for the Keno deal to be counted... mwahahahaha What a plonker Jimmy!
Proof if ever that the whole TPA bollocks is a complete rort.... NRL should be using this as 1 - A reason to carry out thorough investigations into the Panthers cap and TPAs, and 2 - to scrap the TPA stuff altogether as all the clubs are at it, some just have more wealthy friends than others.

Just for laughs and an NRL meltdown I would be happy to see Maloney stay and we sign Pearce as well because "He wants to play with his Mates".

Very sad that two of the most influential players in delivering the Sharks it’s first Premiership only spent two years at the Club.

From his attitude on the field last year...he wouldnt try because flanno wouldnt give him more money. Or the money he wanted.

The more our season slipped away the more his bridges burnt.

Everyone wants more money...but theres a better way to go about it. Not at everyone elses expense.

Plus he wasnt entitled to it

He got what he signed for.

NRL players have been warned they will be sin-binned in 2018 if they give away repeated penalties close to the tryline.
In 2017, 18 per cent of penalties were conceded within 10 metres of the goal line, despite only 10 per cent of play-the-balls being made in the area.

Sin bins more than doubled to 43, but the new-look competition committee, including coaches Ivan Cleary and Paul Green and Greg Inglis — decided that should continue for penalties, given away while trying to slow the game down near the tryline.

“No team wants to be left a player short for 10 minutes so, if referees start using the bin, teams will be less willing to give away penalties,” Cleary said.

Deliberate and dangerous foul play offences will also be sin-binned, while referees will be urged to penalise for incorrect play-the-balls if no effort is made by players to use their foot.
Thank f**k Maloney is gone. f**king hell.

Ive asked this before but nobody seemed to know or give a good reason but why is he not wanted?
Don't know that it's so much a case of not being wanted. Jimmy is about to play for his 7th club in 12 years....never has he had a second contract at any one of his clubs despite being successful along the way. Could be that he's a bit of a football gypsy and enjoys a change of scenery or it could be partly due to the fact that everyone loves a joker but that sort of personality can wear a bit thin if you have to deal with it on a regular basis.

First thing I thought of too....seems to have stopped flapping like a fish on the ground to milk penalties but still plays tunnel-ball.
Totally agree with both rule changes - but the key as always is consistency... I can just imagine them not pinging anyone for it, then at a crucial stage of a game, and out of nowhere, they'll nail one of their usual targets (Fifita, Maloney) for a semi-dodgy play the ball.
