Here you go, the story is pretty much the same as the others that have already been posted;
Eels call alcohol summit

June 08, 2006

PARRAMATTA chief executive Denis Fitzgerald last night ordered an alcohol summit meeting for his troubled club after the fifth Eel in just three weeks was found guilty of booze-related misbehaviour.

Rising winger Jarryd Hayne, a NSW under-19 player, was yesterday fined $1000 after admitting he bit a woman on the arm while intoxicated at The Roxy nightclub in Parramatta last weekend.

Hayne's fine and apology to the woman comes after recent alcohol issues with Nathan Cayless, Nathan Hindmarsh, Mark Riddell and Tim Smith.

"The management and coaching staff will have a meeting in the next couple of days to consider all options in regard to the recent spate of alcohol incidents," Fitzgerald told The Daily Telegraph.

When asked were the Eels now in crisis, Fitzgerald laughed and hung up.

Hindmarsh yesterday expressed concern about the club's ongoing dramas: "We have had a few incidents in the last couple of weeks so we have really got to sit down and talk to the players about it.

"It is something the club is going to have to address. It is a bit embarrassing.

"We have all made mistakes before and I guess [Hayne] will learn from this.

"I don't know the full story behind it but I am sure he is embarrassed about it."

Fitzgerald ridiculed talk that Hayne's fine was too lenient. "It was appropriate," he said.

Parramatta issued a press statement yesterday where Hayne said: "I did not mean to offend the young lady involved, and I told her that when I spoke to her today.

"My actions were childish and unacceptable, and I understand and accept the penalty that I have received."

The woman spoke to Ray Hadley on 2GB yesterday but did not give out her name.

She said she attended The Roxy on Sunday night for her 18th birthday celebration and to see the launch of Parramatta's Cheerleaders Calendar.

The woman spurned several advances from Hayne but the woman said she "made it clear I wasn't interested and that I had a boyfriend".

"He then touched my hair and stroked my head and was being a smart arse. He then bit me on the upper arm. It didn't hurt but I was in shock.

"I was really angry that footballers get away with it."

Why?

I can't read the details of the article, but everything there seems to be true.

More like "Hayne, typical f**ken Eel."

maybe because it was sensationilised as the mainstream media do quite well, incident happened late Saturday night, reported on Hadley's program on Wednesday..

A bite's a bite is a bite...if it's serious he should of been charged for assult if it was playful?, get a life.

My opinion.

So. If Gower did what he was accused of, he should have been charged, but he wasn't. If the Dogs did what they were accused of why didn't they get charged? Everyone things they are scum. But Hayne is the victim....

I was reading your illustrious friend "The Colonel's" posts from the Gower incident. People often don't lay charges on these sorts of things, doesn't mean it didn't happen, or it wasn't an issue, according to him.

Seeing how you too have identical opinions on just about everything, i would assume you would agree with this to.

AdvertisementPARRAMATTA have fined winger Jarryd Hayne $1000 for biting a young woman on the arm at a nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Hayne, other Eels players and members of the club's cheerleading squad were invited guests at The Roxy in Parramatta on Saturday night, along with Hooters waitresses who were advertising the opening of a restaurant next month.

The woman rang Ray Hadley at radio station 2GB yesterday morning to complain that a player had made unwelcome advances. Identified as "Lisa" [not her real name], she said the player had gone too far.

She said he had stroked her hair, "then I thought he was putting his head down on the back of the chair, but he actually bit me instead".

Asked where she had been bitten, the woman replied: "On the side of my arm, my upper arm."

The woman, who said she was at the nightclub with her boyfriend and other friends to celebrate her 18th birthday, said the bite didn't hurt or leave a mark but that she objected to the player's familiarity.

She made a complaint to the nightclub's management and said that while she was happy with the way bouncers had treated her, she was upset by the management's concern that if the player was forced to leave, the other players would leave with him. "I'm more angry with the fact footballers think they can just get away with it," the woman said.

Parramatta issued a media release yesterday afternoon. It said Hayne had unreservedly apologised to the woman and that she had accepted the apology. "My actions were childish and unacceptable and I understand and accept the penalty I have received," Hayne said in the statement.

Eels chief executive Denis Fitzgerald said the club felt it appropriate to impose a fine.

It is the third off-field incident involving Eels players recently. Tim Smith and Mark Riddell were fined and dropped for drinking before training, and captain Nathan Cayless was reprimanded for damaging a security camera at Star City casino.

The Eels will hold a meeting with players today in a bid to put a stop to alcohol-related incidents at the club.

Read the quote from the woman. Make up your own mind and stop harking back to an incident that is in no way shape or form related to this incident.

Mate, don't blame the media for blowing it up.

If the kid behaved himself, they would have had nothing to blow up. End of story.

true, but if the girl thought it was serious enough to make a fuss about it on public radio? you could also argue that this matter should of been pursued much earlier than Wednesday.

again, just my opinion.

I have said in another thread that this behaviour is unacceptable and i stand by that, i know it is a very small incident and not much in it, but i still think that it deserves everything it is getting if it will make these idiots think before they do anything else.

The problem i have is the way this young lady has gone about this, she left it for 4 days and then instead of going through the correct channels, she thought it best to ring the Eels Public Enemy Number 1 and complain about it.
Ray Hadley hates us and someone has gotten into her ear to get her to do this!!!!

Hadley doesn't hate the Eels. He is an Eels supporter and member. He had a distinct problem with Brian Smith but is good friends with Denis.

agree, I want to make it clear that I condone this behaviour but I find it rather peculiar with the way it came out in the media.

well, the media release didn't state otherwise.
Yeah, granted, but neither did I think the media release about timmy and the pig. They just didn't get named in the team the next day.

I guess this not known for certain yet.

Hadley's already on his high horse and he's only been on air for ten minutes.

He couldn't even help himself at taking a swipe at Brian Smith and the lack of discipline in the club under his direction.

I listened as I was curious to see what he would say. Not any more.

See ya later Ray. :x
