generally speaking, yes.

Our feeder club won't be Parramatta but it could be either Seven Hills, Cabramatta, Wentworthville, Mt Pritchard or Guildford...OR!!! all 5 clubs will get share of our players but i hope we don't opt that path.

Agreed, it would be bad to see them spread over all 5, so the question will be which club we will use. In speaking with Denis about this, he seems to think this is a Strength for our club and not a weakness (the number of options) and said they have had a preliminary meeting about 2008 with the above 5 clubs (as Guildford will be re-entering the comp next year). He also said that at the moment, no club is favoured, not Mounties or Cabra or any other club.

So we now have the NRL Telstra Premiership which is First Grade.

Flegg is gone as is Prems and replaced with This national U20's. But what happens if a player doesn't cut it and isn't eligible for the U20's comp. Jim Beam Cup?

The NSWRL is in the process of finalising both its premier open age competition and its junior competitions for 2008

Second Grade and Jim Beam Cup to remain.

An open grade Premier League style competition is certain to go ahead in 2008 with most of the NRL clubs making it clear that such a competition is vital to the development of the game.

There has been talk that Premier League would be scrapped in order to save costs and concentrate on the National U 20's Competition which comes into effect next season.

The majority of clubs believe that up to 10-12 players would miss out on playing in the NRL every week and would need a high quality competition to play as an alternative.
The Jim Beam Cup competition was looked as an option but many have found that it wouldn't be feasible because the competition is based around a points system as well as the standard not being as high as what the Premier League provides.

A Premier League or State Cup is expected to be staged in 200-8 and will be run by the NSWRL.

Some NRL clubs, such as Parramatta, St George and Penrith, could be looking at having links with Jim Beam Cup clubs, but the majority of NRL clubs will continue to field Premier League (second grade) sides.

Meanwhile the Jim Beam Cup competition will definitely continue in 2008 in its current format and will not act as a second grade competition for the NRL clubs.

if the NSWRL won't wave the points system rule for the Jim beam cup, we as a club won't have any choice but to field a team in a state league...we'll be crazy not to.

I'm pretty certain there was an article that looked at that in the Sun or Advertiser - the Eels were looking at one of the Jim Beam Cup sides entering PL under a similar agreement to that of St Marys/Penrith a few years ago.

good! tbh I don't really care who it is [Seven Hills ] as long as we've got a team representing us in level below NRL.

At the end of the day, we could have the same set up as the current one, only more emphasis and prestige placed on the current jersey flegg (under 20's comp) with more television exposure for our young stars.

Benoir91 and Naill, To give you the short answer.

We don't know yet.

What we do know is that in 2008 there will be

Telstra Premiership (Open competition involving the 16 NRL clubs)
Toyota Cup (Under 20's competition involving the 16 NRL clubs)

After that we are all just guessing. We don't know what will happen with the NSWRL's Premier League and we don't know if we will be fielding a team in it as Parramatta or as a Joint Venture between Parramatta and a Club that currently plays Jim Beam Cup from our Junior Area.

I would think so.

The hole point of Toyota coming aboard would to inject some cash.

There would be any point otherwise....I think. :?

why would a company like Toyota come on board if they new that weren't going to get the National exposure that they wouldn't get with the current format??

They would get National exposure wouldn't they?

Just reading my earlier post, I think I lost you a little.

All 16 NRL teams will be involved in the U'20s.....
