It's the same old trick.

Say something controversial that is going to p*ss a lot of folk off, sit back and watch the media run with it and stir up the masses and then watch the cash roll in as those same folk shell out their hard earned to watch him in the hope he gets beaten.

He's made millions from doing it.. He must sit back and have a laugh how easy it is.

Perhaps he is up there as one of the best trolls of all time

I notice that the insults from Mundine have started. Geale probably won't respond, he appears to be a person of class and style. Having said that, is Mundine's mother an Aborigine?
I Think his mother is white.
Every time Mundine has meet anybody half useful he has lost, and Greg Wood was less than half useful. When the poms were the dominant super middleweights and middleweights he avoided them like the plague.

Make your own mind up but I'm very doubtful she is.

Taken in August this year.

Keep an eye on David Aloua fighting in the undercard. He is going to go a long way.

One of Geales camp called it best when it comes to Choc.

He pointed out which fighters Choc ripped all of his "signature moves" from. It was an amusing read.

Sad because he was always talented but never as talented as he was in his own mind

If only Mundine could stand back and view himself as we do. Most of the population see him as an embarrassment to his cause. I watched him at the press conference today. He is hopelessly inarticulate and his level of education is basic. Geale was all class, he didn't have to try too hard though.

Mundine knows what he is doing. He knows if he plays the villain he will attract interest, because people will eat it up every single time. I am amazed anyone takes a word he says seriously anymore. If he didn't make his outlandish statements a lot of his fights would not generate much interest. Whilst it continues to work for him he will keep on doing it.

Mundine is doing a good job.

How does Mundine knowing that he is acting like a merkin make him any less a merkin?

Personally I don't actually think he understands that most people hate him. He is dumb enough to genuinely believe that he is like Ali

It's a shame Mundine adopted the traits of others as opposed to be his own man. If he went the latter more of Australia would've been behind him and we may have seen him take the harder road as opposed to the one that won't ever see him reach his potential. This is a big step up in class of Mundine and full credit to him if he wins, it would be massive and put him on the radar in the USA.

In a two horse race, never say never though it would take a huge Geale mistake (see Manny Pacman walking in to a right vs Marquez for example) to see Mundine get the win here.

Guy thinks he is a god-send and the greatest athlete to ever live, he think he's done the NRL a favor by playing for them previously.

He's a troll and everyone bites. Hard for anyone to say he's this or he's that, everyone sees this side of him in the media who knows what "the real man" is like (pardon the expression).

He is smart in the sense that he makes this outlandish statements all the time and without fail someone bites and blows it up into a massive deal and bang he has the publicity that he needs to hype up his fights. Even though most pay up hoping to see him get his get ass kicked, who knows if he even cares he's probably laughing all the way to the bank.

This opinion of course is just the way I see it as an outsider aswell.

It is what it is like it or not he has helped Australian Boxing.

I don't think he has. Maybe in the sense that people buy his fights - but there are a handful of legitimate Australian boxers who don't command 1/100th of the attention this overrated old man gets.

He has very obviously been scared to fight overseas for years, and with good reason. Any serious boxer will tear him to shreds. Even at his peak he couldn't do shit every time he tested himself against world-ranked contenders. Personally I thought Geale beat him in the first fight as well. I was shocked when they gave Mundine the decision.

Yeah but whose fault is that? It's up to those fighters to promote themselves and get there name out there, if they can't than its only hurting themselves. Mundines got his own name out there via his own methods and he has had some massive flops but he has had some fights against top contenders and as much as people blast him for taking easy fights he has had bouts with some top level fighters.

The way I see it is that he has made Australian Boxing a bit more relevant due to his presence in the sport and self promotion. I don't believe he is the greatest athlete on the planet or best pound for pound fighter or whatever he calls himself in the media, but then again I'd be pretty sure he doesn't either. (At least I'd hope so)
