My Deleted Thread

Hey, I put up a petition letter here complaining about Wayne Pearce's commentary during the Rabbitohs-Warriors match on the weekend. It seems to have either been deleted or moved.

I'm just wondering why? As far as I know, I didn't break any rules...?

League Unlimited doesn't really have an interest being involved in third party petitions. Sorry.

Fair enough, a little disappointing though, as it's a relevant petition especially to NZ based warriors fans.

But fair enough, no arguments from me.

It would seem my idea of posting a link here to a petition demanding the Warriors Cheerleaders preform nude won't fly here :)

No need to apologise, Dilmah. I simply wasn't aware of LU's stand on third party petitions.

If I could offer some feedback, it would be helpful to fire away a quick PM letting the person know that their thread has been deleted, and maybe a simple reason, such as the one offered above.

Either way, though, as MiX said: fair enough.

Usually when the post is deleted you will receive a private message with the reason. This thread was quarantined for further discussion, hence the lack of a PM.

Thanks for understanding.

so i take it there will be no more threads re petitions allowed on LU dilly,,, ever again ?

because there have been a lot previously. If we are not to advertise petitions, perhaps it could be mentioned in the forum guidelines or does it only apply to the warriors ?

the thread had nzwarriors name in it jess.

No, it didn't. I replace it with asterisks so as to avoid advertising another forum. Unless it was in the text twice?

Surely there is a disclaimer saying "the posts on this forum are the opinion of the poster and do not represent LU"? But I think from past experiences it reads more like "the posts on this forum may be the opinion of the poster but if we at LU do not like it, it will be deleted or amended to suit how we feel and so we don't get sued."

Instead of a petition, just write an article then they wouldn't have a problem with it.... or would they?

P.S. Wayne Pearce needs to go.

Look, I think we all agree in unison, Wayne "Junior" Pearce must be taken away from Warriors games. I've been saying it for a few years, he's a horrid commentator on the Warriors. Same old tired cliches, he must form an opinion on sight of New Zealanders as to how they all must be - we're all the same. It's quite offensive.

The easy thing is this, let's get an email address we can email to Foxsports, demanding Wayne Pearce be taken off commentating our games. That'd be as effective as a petition. Might not get anywhere, but we voice our discontent with him as our commentator.

That in no way would hold up in court.

I'd suggest Iafeta's idea of sending emails is much more effective. Online petitions notoriously lack credibility.
