Hypothetically speaking... if you had a band:

1. What would you call yourselves?

2. What kind of music would you play?

Serious answers are optional.

My band would be called The Falsetto Teeth. We aren't confined to a genre, but we can be loosely described as a hip-hop punk soul outfit, with a penchant for re-interpreting rock opera classics.

Well my band, the musically challenged Desmond Ex-2000, is now known as The Desmonds. We're sort of a mixture of pop, punk, rock and probably some electronic stuff. Also, we're dreadful and have no talent.

"The Lavernes" - I thought of it years ago and then a Sydney band came out with the exact name.

We'd be playing power-pop/alt-country.

It's pop music with guitars. Harmonies, melodies, the whole box and dice.

Main influences are the Beatles, the Who, the Kinks, Badfinger, the Raspberries, Big Star, new wave, etc.

You Am I, Jet, Motorace, etc are borderline power-pop/melodic rock (as far as bands you probably know go).

Original power-pop bands were bands like The Plimsouls, The Romantics, The Knack, 20/20, The Shoes, Cheap Trick, The Stems, etc.

There are heaps of current bands in the genre..

I'd have 2 bands if I could....

First band

1. Outlaw Love Song
2. Ideally a punk rock/country outfit with rockabilly influences.

Second band

1. Don Luca Spencenzo (me) and The Family
2. It'd be me on either upright bass or guitar and lead vocals and the band playing a big band/rockabilly/neo-swing/jazz hybrid.

I like the flying Headbutts for a name, I was going to form it with two mates of mine to do punk hip hop (mainly because we have very little talent). It just suited the nicknames.

I am working with a guitarist mate under the band name "The Lamb Kormas", jamming and doing a bit of writing.

It probably wont go far, but it is good fun.

I have a power metal band in the works. Not purely power, along the lines of Iced Earth, Early Metallica, Maiden, Nevermore, old Seps etc. But this may not come about for a while.

I like the name ANUBIS.... If any of you steal it I will hunt you down!

How about ... Blind Guardian!!!

:sarcasm:

In a band called "the war within". Sucky name i know. We are a rock/metal influenced band. We have some older recordings up that we despise now, but you can check them out at www.myspace.com/thewarwithinau

I've always liked the name 'wax lyrical', but its more of a hip hop name.. lol

I was in a band called Radical Manoeuvres in the late 70s, early 80s. Used to play at the Taren Point Tavern and Caringbah Inn. Played our own stuff and, listening to our old stuff again, I think we were heavily influenced by The Jam, The Clash and others of that ilk.

Always wanted to call the band Buster Hymen and the Penetrators, but the others wouldn't be in it.
