I agree Hindy should be used in two stints next year, rather than 80 mins.

But I don't think that has any bearing on him retaining the captaincy at all.

The only people who have any idea about what kind of Captain Hindmarsh is are the people on the field and the coaches.
You can't judge someone's ability to captain a side if you are not a part of that group.

Judge his playing ability all you want, but don't question his captaining credentials.

I also think Hindy is too quiet to be captain but looking thru our sqaud there are not many candiates.Hayne-LOL Mannah? maybe 2013.Burt? will he even be a regular next year?
AS much as cayless lost his skills as a player he was a realy good captain.And although other teams have some more outspoken leaders i think Hindy is our only choice right now.I can see Sandow as a future captain thou!

Just because he's not barking at his players or annoying the ref at every opportunity it means he's not a good captain?

I really don't know what you guys want from him.

i tend to agree with casper i dont think hindy should be captain i dont think he really wants to be captain but as for reni being captain i dont agree, ben smith for mine.
As for hindy getting a rest if the sitiuation calls for it he should be getting a breather in a blowout either way he should be rested as for a game in the balance leave him out there

Agree with the majority of the starting thread.

Hindmarsh does stiffle /disrupt the attack especially when Parra are in the opposition's 20 - he takes it up when we need to spread it wide. Almost predictable as when he takes the ball up and then passes to the second man.

Not sure about reni as captain though. I'd give it to Mannah.

Mannah is still pretty young, but think back to 2000 when Cayless was named captain which was a big surprise.

So if, and I mean IF Hindmarsh was to retire the captaincy then Mannah should be considered as captain.

In Rugby League I don't think the captain really is that significant an issue, unlike cricket.
Hindy is a bloody legend and all the players can't but respect him because of his work ethic, he should remain captain.
Next in line should be Mannah - he is a natural - in terms of being a captain. Mannah will be captain when Parra do a victory lap on grand final day - next 4-5 years.
