Who are they?

The Jets supporters group. Think of the burrow but an average 30 years younger with better clothes.

The jets have been run terribly over the last decade, almost as bad as the knights. Yet they are still popular in Newcastle, especially with the under 30's. With half decent management and results they would be extremely popular.

There is much dissatisfaction amongst knights fans with the current regime, both on and off field. Some RL fans might scoff and say that Tinks statements will make the jets less popular in Newcastle. Those fans are wrong. I think the club had four employees on assault charges last year plus a couple of dui's. They are on the nose even with their own hardcore fans.

Got to take everything Tinks says in jest though. A few months ago he said it was bad corporate look to own a sports club, a waste of cash. Now he's picking and choosing.

I don't like criticising the bloke too much because he has helped the Knights (before dragging the club through the mud) but he's clearly bitter as f**k now. He doesn't give a crap about Soccer or the Jets. He's been trying to offload them.

He also stated a couple of years back how he loved the Knights & rugby league.

Some of us could just tell on an instinctual level that he was no good even when everyone in Newcastle was loving him.

Does anyone have the figures on how many millions of dollars that Tinkler gave the Knights? He cops so much flack, but as a Knights supporter, if I was told that he would jump ship after being incredibly charitable, then I'd definitely take it. Remember how the Knights were in a big debt before he came here? He got rid of that, improved the playing roster and bought the Knights state of the art facilities. Whilst I am disappointed that he left the way he did along with being late with payments etc, I'm definitely thankful that the club had ticklers influence.

From memory the figures in the media were $11 million debt for the Knights.

Tinkler came on board, cleared the debt and left the club with money in the bank and the best coach in the game.

Anyone blaming the Knights woes on Tinkler is an idiot.

That "no good" dude saved my club. I didn't like the way things ended up with him in the end with the bitterness and the no payments etc, but that doesn't change the fact he pumped money into my club for years to keep it alive. Obviously he needed to leave - it turned into a circus - but part of me will always be thankful to Tinkler.

You'd think being a Souths fan you'd have a bit more of an appreciation for people that are willing to take your club over and save it but apparently not...
