What do Portland think they are doing?

Out- Derek Anderson, Nick Van-Exel, Damon Stoudemire, Shareef Abdur-Rahim
In- Juan Dixon, Martell Webster

Unless Sebastian Telfair and Travis Outlaw step-up next season they are going to be the worst team in the NBA.

Nets call off deal for F Abdur-Rahim; acquire Sixers F Jackson
August 9, 2005

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - Shareef Abdur-Rahim will not be playing home games in the Meadowlands next season. The New Jersey Nets took immediate measures to fill his spot.

The Nets on Tuesday called off their trade for the Portland Trail Blazers forward, five days after team president Rod Thorn announced the deal was on hold after "a question arose" concerning Abdur-Rahim's physical examination.

Hours later, the Nets announced they had acquired forward Marc Jackson from Philadelphia for a second-round pick in 2006.

Doug Christie  Dallas

Should be a good pick up for Finely. Doesnt have as much offense but is a very good defender.

Lookout people the magic have signed Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje

Add that to the signing earlier of Keyon Dooling, the waiving of Doug Christie and the 'no show' of our 11th draft pick and you have a great offseason for Orlando

Why is Kwame Brown in the Lakers line up and why is Caron Butler with the wizards in your list? I checked the Lakers roster at nba.com and espn.com today and Kwame Brown wasn't in it. There was no mention of his "singing" on the official Laker site either...

Pfft what do you know? :p

Will Michael take the bait?

Spurs sign Nick Van-Exel
I dont get how they dont exceed the cap but watever he should be good

Well if you look at their roster, the only player worth the max is Tim Duncan. Ginobili and Parker are probably getting big pay packets but nothing that will blow the budget. The rest of them are pretty much role players on good contracts.

A team i would be looking at that's over the cap is Miami. With Shaq,Wade (still probably on a rookies contract), Walker, Williams and now possibly Michael Finley. Not to mention the rest of the team...

your allowed to be over the cap you just have to pay luxury tax

Wow, I didn't know that. How far over the cap? Because I remember that thing with Joe Smith that caused a huge debacle.

Spurs have now signed Michael Finley...what a joke

How is my team (Sonics) supposed to compete in the West, against a team whos bench is close to being as good as our starters?

I hate the Spurs, I'd love to see any other team win it

I wonder how Finley and Bowen are gonna get along. I remember Finley giving him an elbow to the head a few years back...

It's not always a good thing to have too many players who want the ball. Players like Brent Barry, and Bruce Bowen can sometimes be even more important than someone like Michael Finley.

That's also why I think Miami could maybe go backwards this season, even though their roster looks even better than last year on paper.
