Just spent some time playing it. Everything I expected from a 2K basketball game. It feels more real this season. Players just seem to move more freely. They make better decisions off the ball.
The classic teams are awesome. Gonna do the Jordan challenges later.
It is one of the best basketball games I have played after 90 mins of playing.
This is the year 2K has finally buried EA. NBA Elite :lol:

I haven't played many basketball games in a while but this game is unreal.

Basically, this game is what is mentioned in the IGN review. I've had about 8 or so games using the timberwolves ( don't laugh, my team isnt available as Oklahoma killed them). The atmosphere, basically everything in this game is awesome. Everyone in crowd looks like an individual. They act and move on there own which is cool. Also the amount of off the ball moves going on is unreal.

I just got killed by the Knicks, but just trying to setup the proper CPU sim stats and etc.

Man this game is really awesome.

I'm new to 2k sports NBA titles, what gameplay settings do u guys run with?

5mins seems like it portrays some pretty average stats lol.

By the way it's like every match has something different, the commentry is so good. They will be talking about something than boom they scream mid sentence when a good play happens, such a simple idea but they get u pumped up lol.

Camello anthony came out and raped me, the dude was all over my defense, I double up on him and he flicks the ball off with some fancy passes lol. He led the nuggets to a 22-6 run in the first quarter.

I usually play 8 minutes then find some sliders that some nerd has put up online to give a more realistic feel usually dropping the shooting stats down it brings the better players in to play more I feel.

I play 10 minute quarters on Superstar with some pretty strict sliders (i.e all shooting sliders are in the low 40's, barely any one on one steals, high CPU offensive awareness). I get pretty realistic numbers doing that.

Also sick of reading how great this game is so I'm going to buy it tomorrow morning.

The more I play it the more I see how much effort has gone into the little things.
For instance I was playing and Wade got on a fast break made the basket and went into some cameramen on the baseline. It then shows Wade getting up and asking the photographer if he is OK before going back into the game.
Estimated attendances before some games. Different tones of the organ in each arena. Different arena music in each.
2K has always done the little things that make a game feel more real. Ever since I got NBA 2K free with my Dreamcast back in the day I haven't really looked at Live.
Every year there is a new little detail that makes me smile. Mascots giving it to rival teams players, uniforms moving, changing facial expressions, ribbon screens reflections on the floor. The commentators seeming like they always have something different to say each game about different players or teams.
The series has always flown under the radar imo and has been better than live since 99-2000

Completly agree, I am a huge NFL 2k fan, with NFL 2k5 being so much better than any other NFL game, madden included.

It's great to see a company really doing things for the consumers, this game is quality. I cannot remember the last time I looked at a video game felt like it was perfect. I never thought it was possible to include so many moves! The quicker guys can really punch a staggered defense, also watching the computer ai notice which player is a danger and watching the more aggressive defensive approach.

How great is it scoring after a great ball or pulling off a move in heavy traffic lol.

Also association mode seems like it's very deep.

Looks like a real complete game and a fun experience.

I do the same since I'm a stats buff. 10 minutes is enough to get a similar amount of possessions to a regular NBA game with the uptempo nature of computer game offense :lol:

TBH I always preferred Live on PS2, but 2k have blown them away in the next gen games.

Anyone picking up common bugs like there were last year. The worst one I remember was centres like Shaq taking 3s with 10 seconds left on the shot clock.

You can download sliders off 2k share. I haven't played this years game yet so I can't recommend which ones to use however I trust a few people on xboxworld who normally do the research on the sliders so I will let you all know some good ones in a few days.

I play 10 minute quarters also and full seasons. I am extremely anal about stats... And trades so I like to keep things semi realistic (Though I will be trading Iggy to denver, melo to the nets and favors to the 76ers :lol just to make sure the stats are realistic. I'll also go into teams and edit others roles, stats etc to what they should be. Anyone seen the computer make trades in the game yet?

I thought 2k9 was a step back from 2k8 and 2k10 was a slight improvement over 2k8. 2k11 sounds awesome! I should have bought it on PS3 so I could play it this week.

Madden 11 does that too, and shows all the fans having BBQ's, getting drunk and being typical rednecks like only Americans do before the game.

Yeah the CPU has made heaps of trades and signings in my franchise. The thunder have been very active, they picked up Allen iverson from fa and made some depth trades in my league. It seems like CPU is active in the market, especially mid season and during the draft.

I've started playing on 8 min qtrs, seems good and getting some realistic stats.
