NBA All-Star Weekend 2011

If Dr J or MJ leaped from behind the ft line they wouldn't slam it hard either.

Just watched the replay.

I think all-round, it's probably the best dunk contest that I can remember in the sense that all 4 contestants were great. The first round in particular was great. You could make an argument that both DeMar and Ibaka deserved to be in the finals over Blake.

Agree with willvillain. Am I the only one that thought that Blake was the least impressive contestant of the 4? He really didn't deserve to get into the Finals after that pissweak 2nd dunk. And the dunk over the car was so ordinary.

Agree with what's been said; Ibaka was robbed. Unlike many we've seen, he actually had his foot behind the line. Amazing dunk for anyone, let alone a 7 footer. His other dunk was sweet as well.

I thought he was too but his hype man did the job. I wasn't impressed with any of his dunks especially the car dunk.

I think DeRozan suffered by not executing first or second time he took a few turns on his dunks which had everyone a bit meh when he did do it.

Ibaka wasn't behind the line per se. The toe of his shoe was on the line, so it's not like his entire foot was behind the line. As I said, Dr J and MJ were only about half a foot closer to the rim if memory serves, so it's not a huge difference for me personally.

West ended up winning the ASG 148-143. Shattered at missing it.

Kobe won the MVP with 37 points and 14 rebounds. Lebron had a triple double with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Does anyone know if any other replays are going to be shown?

Wasn't really a great game tbh, not that many highlight plays. Some great James drives at the end and he nearly got them the win, but the game was otherwise fairly tame through the first 3 & 1/2 quarters. Rose put some nice moves on as well, he and Westbrook are just so fast. Kobe took 15 shots through the first 14 minutes, ok he made most of them but ball movement wasn't his priority yesterday - Stoudemire summed it up best "You could tell Kobe from the start wanted to get the MVP. He was not passing the ball."

Of the players in the game who should not be there next year IMO - Duncan & Garnett (too old), with Pierce and Allen possibly joining them and Joe Johnson Kevin Love (not good enough). Pleased that both Hawks players led the East in +/- though.

In the "I don't really care about being here" category were definitely Howard and Anthony - neither guy did squat.

Don't think there's another replay tbh.

All Star game is usually a let down for me, lots of players going through the motions, but when you have CP3 on the team it was a massive let down seeing Kobe taking the inbound pass and just running up the court putting up jumpers not even looking to get anyone involved, mad boring, if I wanted to see Kobe ball hog I'd watch the Lakers but I wanted to see the likes of CP3, Dirk, Melo and Durant do their thing. Melo never got in to it but he hardly got a good look anyway.

LeBron was the highlight of the game for me, some of those drives were damn scary and ASG or NBA finals nobody is going to step in front of that and take a charge.
