Griffin's going to have a busy weekend. Playing in the rookie/somphomore game, dunk contest and the ASG.

CHICAGO -- The Western Conference needs a starting center for the All-Star Game in Los Angeles, and Gregg Popovich says he knows the perfect person for the job.

The San Antonio coach selected Spurs star Tim Duncan to replace Yao Ming in the lineup for Sunday's game at Staples Center, staying in his own locker room instead of picking Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin playing in his home arena or Minnesota Timberwolves double-double machine Kevin Love.

Barkley is the man...

"Somebody should arrest the man who gave that kid that haircut" - talking about a 7 year old or so kid

"if he spent more time working on his jumpshot and not blowing out candles maybe he would still be in the league" on gerald green

Those quotes are not word for word but you get the jist..

This slam dunk contest has been so much better than the last few years. I love Blake Griffin - if only he wasn't on the clippers.. Man I wish the thunder won the lotto that year. Imagine Westbrook, Durant and Griffin!

The coverage got a lot better when Sir Charles stepped in that's for sure.

Ibaka was straight up robbed, 7-footer going better than Dr J and Jordan and only getting a 45 is criminal particularly Dr J not giving him a 10 but yeah great all-round dunk contest, the best for some time.

Thought Blake was lucky to get out of the first round! His first dunk was awesome, but his second was pretty bland, thought DeRozan's were much more impressive.

Still, it was the most fun dunk contest in recent memory. Loads of creativity from all the dunkers - props, new ideas. Lots of fun. It's funny because I thought when the lineup was announced that it was a pretty dull group. I was way off the mark.

Just watched the replay.

I think all-round, it's probably the best dunk contest that I can remember in the sense that all 4 contestants were great. The first round in particular was great. You could make an argument that both DeMar and Ibaka deserved to be in the finals over Blake.

Agree with willvillain. Am I the only one that thought that Blake was the least impressive contestant of the 4? He really didn't deserve to get into the Finals after that pissweak 2nd dunk. And the dunk over the car was so ordinary.

Agree with what's been said; Ibaka was robbed. Unlike many we've seen, he actually had his foot behind the line. Amazing dunk for anyone, let alone a 7 footer. His other dunk was sweet as well.

I agree with you guys about Blake, Ibaka should of gotten a perfect score for the free throw line dunk, man that was sweet but i honestly though DeRozan should of been in the final as his 2 dunks were very impressive but oh well, you always knew Blake was gonna get up.

Overall, it was the best dunk contest in a very long time and each of them brought something different and creative, good work by all of them.

Agree. he was very good.

It's kinda sad that Blake was all but pre-determined to make it to the Finals (given the KIA car dunk that came up). But it's the dunk contest we're talking about, so no surprises there.

His 2nd dunk was just sooo lame, especially in the context of how good the first round was.

Best contest in years. Thought both DeRozan and McGee would have scored higher if they'd completed their dunks first time (though not sure why Griffin was allowed lee-way as he also took multiple attempts). Ibaka would have scored higher on the FT line dunk had he thrown it down hard - he only just got it and say what you will about Docs (or even MJs) but they slammed the ball, albeit they took off a half foot closer.

Still, given how bad the contest has been the last couple years at least we got 4 guys who each put up a good show.

That was hilarious. Isn't Green in the D-League these days?

Reggie Miller is painful to listen too. I honestly have no idea how that clown has a commentry job. Also did anyone see Cheryl drag that little kid off after the Ibaka dunk? She wwas pretty rough with him.
