NBA Finals - Lakers beat Celtics 4-3

Even ignoring for a second the whole "we wanted the refs to swallow the whistles" bit (something I don't recall ever saying but would happily stand corrected).......you Lakers fans are really claiming that twice as many FTA isn't "too skewed"? Ok....

Again, the Lakers deserved to win. They had about 10 o-boards to the Celtics 7 d-boards mid-way through the second quarter from memory, just wanted it way more. Kudos to them, and I'm sure game 7 will be a cracker. But to completely change the way the Finals are being officiated is bogus. Call it tight, call it tight. Call it loose, call it loose. But just call it consistently. For both teams.

Given some of the massive FT discrepancies in this series, a +9 difference is pretty small. Given that some of those massive FT discrepancies went in LA's favour I thought you would have been happy with how it went today...guess not.

Oh, and neither of you Laker homers wants to address the PP comment? I suppose he was hanging out past the 3-point line the entire time he was on the court. Take the blinkers off, please.

Ok. PP should have got some calls.

Look I know it hurts you to see Kobe succeed so I can understand your frustration.

As an impartial observer I really don't care who wins. I'm certainly not getting frustrated by the Finals.

As a basketball fan, I just want a good contest. I actually like that it's going to a 7th game, means one more game of ball before next season. I just don't like seeing the refs f**k up. I know it happens regularly but to go from 110-odd FTA through the first two games to 29 FTA in game 6, at Staples, with the Lakers down 3-2, with the Lakers shooting twice as many than the Celts from the line.......I mean boy, it doesn't look good, particularly in the post-Donaghy world.

Still can't understand why you'd complain about the FT ratio in today's game. A +9 differential is hardly anything major.

Sure it's inconsistent but did you really have a problem with the refs only handing out 29 FT's total? To me that improves the game as a spectacle. Would you have preferred if the refs had called it similar to, say, Game 2, when there were a combined 67 FT's (41 off them going to LA)

+9 compared to game 2 is nothing major, sure. But +9 is near enough to DOUBLE what the other team shot - that's the point. I've got no issues - none, zero, nada - with the calls the Lakers got. Certainly in the first half they were the only team playing the game, period, and deserved to be leading by 20. But in that third quarter I felt the Celts tried to raise their tempo (admittedly off a pretty low base) but just didn't get any calls, compared to the Lakers who got a bit of a leg-up.

Lakers have attempted 31 (!) more free throws through the 6 games, so I'm not surprised you guys have no issues!

Here's to game 7 anyway.

Sportstab must not have seen Game 2

Sportstab base their odds for USA sports via the vegas agencies. History is so against the Celtics in terms of winning a game 7 finals on the road.
Still...1.28 is short. I would say 1.45 would have been better

Probably staying up for this one. Very excited!

Started following the NBA four years ago and picked the Celtics for obvious reasons. They came last that first year and I assumed I'd picked another perennial loser (in modern times) like Souffs. Not to be... :D

Lakers will be setting some kind of record if they win. Shooting like 32% and win (yes i know the free throw disparity)
