Didnt they get the trade exemption for Odom.

Could anyone else see Bynum/Gasol/Trade Exemption for Howard/Arenas?

I don't think you can combine exemptions and players unless you do seperate deals.. Arenas is a FA also

I still can't believe they gave away Odom.

If anything it'll be Bynun/Gasol/Trade Exemption for Howard/Hedo....then signing Arenas as a FA.

Their GM came out and said he didn't want a player in return for Odom didn't he?

I'm at work so can't check the exact details, but with how far above the cap the Lakers are. The new luxery tax levels of $4 for every dollar your over a certain limit, Odoms 10mil salary would've cost the Lakers 40mil a season.

I can't. Sure Howard's someone they can build around in the future, but that deal would make them worse right now.
