Miami are a good team but no inside game they rely on spreading the court and letting LBJ or DW isolate and tale defenders on man to man when a team has an side game they don't hve the tools to defend it.

I liked your post Ridders about being back on the road to 500 after one win against Cleveland great to be optimistic with a team that can't defend

Wade I can understand but Bosh? How exactly has Bosh gone backwards?

Damn I wish Pau could have regressed in the same way that Bosh apparently has.
The first 20 or so games Bosh was good but the last month he's been terrible.

When I say gone backwards I don't necessarily mean age related permanent decline, just that he isn't as effective as he was.

Lebron is carrying more of the load than he did in his MVP season last year.

17-21. Ohhh yeah. The juggernaut rolls on.

Lakers looked good today.. Howard looked good.. Nash is awesome.. Moves the ball around so well.

That's been the saving grace of the season for me. Getting to see him play regularly is good fun. Such a smart player.

Just having a look at his numbers, he seems to be doing alright. His rebounding has definitely fallen off a bit, but his offensive efficiency seems to be pretty good. He's shooting 58.8% for the month of January.

About the Lakers, they still haven't shown they can keep good teams down to a beatable score.

On Bosh, he's our only decent Big, we're getting murdered on the boards, we're really a terrible rebounding team and we need to him be after every single rebound he can get to.

Yes he's scoring efficiently but Miami have got bigger problems than that.

I got a big multi on the go.

I need the Bulls, Pacers, Nets and Hornets to beat their lines and the big risky one is I need the Wizards to win by 11+.

If the above happens I turn $5 into $499.

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:8847203 <- Royce White interview

Anyone else reckon this guy will struggle to get back in the league? I can't see any other team really taking the risk on him.

From what I've read, and I'm not sure if this is really the case, the main problems seem to stem from Royce wanting his doctors to have the final say on his basketball playing conditions.

In a professional team environment like the NBA, I don't really see that as being realistic. His doctors can give recommendations to the Rockets, but ultimately the Rockets are going to do what's best for their organisation. Sure they can do some things to make things easier for Royce, but putting the final say in the hands of his doctors is something that's never going to happen.

If things don't work out with the Rockets over the next couple of years, it's going to be hard for him find anyone willing to give him guaranteed money. Teams may be willing to take a flyer on him if he's willing to take a non-guaranteed contract.

With their 22nd loss the Lakers will now be below 500 at the halfway point of the season no matter what. Who would have picked that on day 1.

And a symmetry in one aspect, both Kobe and Lebron took 25 shots. But Lebron scored 17 more points.

That was a very good game yesterday. Had a real play off feel to it.

Lebrons shot wasnt falling, but man when he wants to get to the hoop no one can stop him.

Spewing I missed the game, wanted to watch that match up.

Lakers are only 3-4 games out of the playoffs. Surely, surely they can put a bit of a run together soon and get in there.

Meanwhile the Spurs notch up another W over the Warriors today. Brings our home record to 18-2 but a troubling 13-9 on the road.

Looks like 3 teams in the West are clearly ahead of the rest at this point of the season.

Haha if only Dwight could hit half of that amount.

On the Lakers, man has it been a struggle so far. We've had injuries but still no excuse, we have been piss poor defensively and it simply hasn't been good enough. However, our last 3 games have been an improvement and even though we lost to Miami, there are some good signs. Out defense looks a bit better but still some way to go but mainly there has been more of an effort and you can see they are really trying.

We don't have much margin for error but the teams ahead are dropping games and lost a few in a row so if we can just string some wins together and finish the year strongly, who knows what can happen in the playoffs.

It is still a battle and despite being only 4 games back they are yet to have their Grammy road trip and have a poor record on the road. They did look better when Kobe took less shots as his selection is poor and he would rather take a poor shot than look for an open player they still have issues in defense as even if they make the finals there are no Cleve etc for kobe to take on the best offensive player as the good ones will eat him alive. He loses players he is defending on screens and blames others for it.
I still see a lottery round and see what number they win for Phoenix as it is theirs.

Problems the Lakers have:
Kobes age
Kobes shooting selfishness
Kobes lazyness on D
Kobes contract
MWPs age
Nashs age
Everything Nash does on D
Dwights free throw shooting
Dwights chances of re-signing
Paus age
Paus contract
Bench depth
Mike D'Antoni
Spending 20 million more than anyone else on a severely flawed roster
